If I could move it up, I totally would. But i haven't gotten the surgery yet, so I'd wait for one of them to chime in about recovery time.

Afa your boyfriend? Does he love you? Does he want you to be happy? Does he want you to be healthy? Then he should deal. :P

Hello, when is your birthday? I, too, have to wait through Thanksgiving, my birthday, and Christmas. My birthday is December 7

I know you weren't asking me directly, but my b-day is Feb. 12, so that's another reason I wanted to move surgery up to Feb. 15 (or Jan. 18)--would be the best birthday present ever. Even going in March, I'm considering it a belated birthday/Christmas present to myself (because Lord knows I can't afford to buy anything else for myself until then).

I think that Valentine's Day is probably a bigger deal to me than to him--in general, not if I had to choose between celebrating something we could do any day and having the surgery, though--but I could see him giving me a hard time about it (hopefully jokingly). I honestly think he would be more concerned with me missing school and not having enough recovery time, which of course, is also my main concern.

Lezzielez.. U scheduled for the 21st?

Sorry I was slacking off on my homework last night.. Yes, I am going to Dr. Garcia on Feb 21st along with SweetTea (I hope I have your tag name right..)

. I have been told that some college students do it over a long weekend and I do have one in February, for Presidents Day. To make it happen, though, I would need to leave on Valentine's Day (I'm guessing my bf wouldn't exactly be pleased) and I would miss at least 2 days of school (the Friday before and the Tuesday after).

Here are my 2 cents (I have about a good 20-25, but I think 2 is enough ;) )

You can always catch the first flight into San Diego and have surgery the same day. So if you have the surgery on Valentines Day, then you will be able to fly back on President's day. Is there someone that can drive you to school or help you around? That way you don't have to miss school on Tuesday even though you will probably not be able to concentrate much. I plan on returning to work for 1/2 days that entire week after I get back and then trying my normal days the 2nd week.

Now, what I would try to do with the boyfriend is tell him that for Valentines Day, you would like for him to give you a gift of presence and support. Its free! (minus the cost of the flight..lol)

The whole point of choosing Spring Break (my actual, sane plan) is that I will have almost a week to recover at home without having to go to school. So this is crazy, right? I know it is, but going 1-2 months sooner--anything to shorten this wait--is so attractive. Patience, sadly, is not one of my virtues :(

I would wait if I had to. Actually, I was scheduled for last January and due to changes in my insurance, couldn't have surgery until this year coming up. It is a hard wait.

My birthday is nov 23....

Yeah, as much as it pains me to be patient, I'm going to wait until March, as planned. Probably the biggest problem with getting it done sooner and either missing Tuesday or totally being out of it is that I'm a teaching assistant and Tuesday is the day that I will have to teach 3 classes back-to-back (which can be challenging even on a normal day). I'm trying to look on the bright side: I have been taking the extra time to take advantage of sales on things that I will need pre- and post-op that I can stock up on, such as Gatorade, soup, jello, etc. Slowly preparing helps me to feel like it's not so far away.

I am so feeling the same way. My surgery will be in early Feb, and that all i dream about. I even bought an outfit, complete with accessories to take pics in after losing my first 75lbs. Good luck....i am patiently waiting with you!

I've moved my date back a week. Is there anyone going Feb 26? I will fly out on the 25 with surgery on the 26.

Where'd everyone go? This thread ( and the mx forum) have fizzled out!

Tis the season to be running around in 20 different directions! Merry Christmas.
