Yes I did it was very light. Surgery is only one hour plus recovery so you are back in your room in no time to fix yourself up. No worries!

I did. They gave me these disposable undie things and a pad to put on to wear during surgery. When i was up and mobile i just switched into my own undies and good pads (i hate the thick ones),

I was a week early just in time for surgery :-( It totally sucked but was managable. I was able to keep my undies on with my pad during surgery. I didn't have any problems. But I feel you- it totally sucks!

Ouch. I didn't even think about swelling down there :/

I keep track of my periods and I was scheduled to get my period the day of surgery! Gosh that sucked. I started my period right on time and the only thing that I noticed was that I bled a lot more because of the blood thinner shots they had to give me every 12 hrs. The nurses helped me put on pads after surgery because it was hard to do with a catheter in place and those leg squeezing thingies lol. It wasn't that bad but I think the timing was horrible. I hate pads and they said that I couldn't wear tampons. Also I wasn't allowed to take a shower while there. Once the catheter was taken out and I was allowed to use the bathroom on my own, it got really gross because they had to measure my urine and of course it was blood floating around in that catch pan thingy. Plus not being able to wipe well it was blood all on the toilet seat from me. It was disgusting but oh well, they all knew I was on the rag and didn't make a big deal about it. Thankfully I had my own room :)

I started the night before but after surgery it went away. The nurse told me that's not uncommon because the surgery is such a shock to your body. That was the 23rd & nothing since then either. I've heard it can mess up your cycle for a month or two.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
