Everyone gets nervous just before surgery, no matter what kind of surgery it is. Just remember that this one surgery is going to save you a ton of hassle and possible additional surgeries to combat the effects of obesity. You've made an informed decision (I hope) and you've decided this is the right path for you. Handle anything that is weighing on your mind, then go have your surgery with a positive attitude. You'll do fine!

Good luck!! :)

I know how scared you are! Time seemed to crawl when you were starting this journey-Now as the date nears, time is flying like a run away train! Breathe and try to stay calm and centered.you've made a decision to change your life forever. That was the hard part. Now you are putting your plan into action. Feel strong in your decision! Visualize how you will feel say a year from now or next Summer. Let positive, exciting thoughts if what's to come push out your fears, whenever possible. My faith also helped me get through it all. A lot. I'll be praying! Good luck, sweetie! You'll be great! 

Before i had my gall bladder out i was really scared but the anethasist was brilliant, she told me to think about a really happy time in my life, i thought about my second honeymoon to mauritius, and i instantly relaxed at which point she put me to sleep and waking up knowing it was all over was a great feeling, even though i had pain.

It is normal to be scared, i got to 3 days before my op in oct but had to delay due to my bloods, but i can remember each day i got nearer i concentrated on what i was taking in with me, getting the home ready for whilst i was in hospital etc and that helped me to take my mind off the op, and telling my self i would deal with how i felt on the day.

I think that the pre nerves are actually worse than when it really happens, i had to go to my 88 year old mom in a laws funeral last week and I was dreading the day, i just didn't know how i would get through it, but once it was there, i just coped minute by minute and then it was over.

I am sure you will be fine, and thank you to the person who posted that the sleeve has less risks than having your gall bladder out, i found that really helpful for me

I will be praying for you, i know that having people praying for me really helped me, x

Have faith in your surgeon and their team, they know what they are doing. Just relax and know that you made a decision that will keep you around for a lot of years! I will be praying for you! I'm 4 months out so I've been there and it's ok to be nervous, please let us know how you are doing after surgery! God Bless you and good luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
