Did You Have Only Liquids One Week Postop?

My surgery was the 15th. I am soooo sick of the liquid diet. Did anyone start early? I haven't had issues but my doc said wait Til Monday.

I was told I had to wait Til Monday for the cream soups and pudding.

Wait! You didn't go through the pre-op, the surgery, etc. to cheat now. By following the guidelines you are teaching your brain new behavior (in addition to allowing yourself a chance to heal). Try some chicken or beef broth, hot herbal tea - Hot drinks can be soothing.

Best of luck!

Every surgeon is different my booklet states that when u get home from the hospital u can try full liquids if tolerated. If not go back to clear. Its worked great for me! I'm can also get my protein shakes in!!

I had surgery on the 16th, liquids only so far, really just water, had 1/2 a protein shake today. I am scared to drink anything. Not too much nausea just feeling a little weak but I was able to walk for about 15 minutes today. Good luck everyone :)

Thank God for liquids and popsickles!

I was on the 15th too! 2 weeks of full liquids, 2 weeks of puréed and 4 weeks of soft foods. I want some (salty) chicken SO BADLY!!

I am not, just rough. I had two weeks of this with veggies and that was hard. This is tortuous! I won't do it but I thought about it as I strained the broth from chicken noodle Soup at Wawa. This is the hardest thing I have ever done. This is not a walk in the park. I want it and you have to really want it to do it. Takes total control especially when you live with a husband who eats healthy foods and lost his weight. Thankfully he is so supportive and eats by himself.

I never thought I would ever get sick of Popsicles! The orange ones especially!! Two more days of hell.

Thankfully when we can eat we will be selective and can't eat too much. Dreaming of mashed potatoes!! Grits!! and a scrambled egg!!

I am grateful my healing has been decent. Just tired and lazy. My doctor said this is all expected. I stopped Tylenol w Codiene 3 days ago.

Ya I'm not able to eat but about an ounce of soup a day but it does satisfie me. I am also aloud to eat grits and cream of wheat!! It goes down pretty well!
