  1. Way to go, keep up the good work .
  2. Today marks one month for me!! My weight has held at 248, down 27 lbs, I too removed the scale, it was becoming an obsession....lol. I am having a hard time with solids, dumping.....grrr. I was such a picky eater prior, it is even more challenging for me and I can't get all the water down! Not doing good with the vitamins (not taking them at all) thought I was on the right track but I guess not. All the mental preparation I had before seems to have slipped away, anyone else feel they are in the same boat?
  3. Well that's a lot, whew! I hope you recover soon, keep us posted
  4. Hi All, how is everyone doing?
  5. Hope all is well Alicia
  6. My start weight was 301 in April, pre-op 275, current 256!! Woo hoo! Great job everyone Probably still feeling the air, I felt that way for about a week after surgery.
  7. Could be I had I high weight to start with, my highest weight was 301, now I am at 256, 275 pre-op, they say the bigger you are the faster you lose or my scale is off...lol. At least you are doing good with your protein, I cannot get the shakes down, I just drink water (and no where near the 64 ozs), Crystal Light and soup, I run out of energy pretty early. Good luck

  11. I had a cold a week before surgery too, I stayed in bed, took sudafed and Benadryl. It's really up to the anesthesiologist, your lungs have to be clear. Good luck
  12. We all will overcome this, my husband and I are separated but he came back to help take care of me, if he wasn't here I am sure I would be an emotional wreck. My struggles are with hunger, I am supposed to be on water and protein shakes for another week. I cannot do the protein shakes like before surgery and i cannot get in the 64 ozs of water. I have had broth, cream of wheat, Popsicles and cream of chicken soup no more than 1/4 cup, no problems with any of them. It makes me nervous that I didn't have nausea or dumping, is that normal? Am I going to screw the whole procedure up if I can tolerate food so soon? These are the things that I struggle with, the future. I am able to walk a mile in under 20 min at the gym and that keeps me motivated. To those having surgery soon, you will be fine and do just great. Have faith, stay confident and stay on this support website. It has helped me tremendously. Good luck ????
  13. Hope everyone had an awesome day, I did!! Keep up the good work, stay focused and confident in your decisions.... Oh yeah.......GO GIANTS!!!!!
  14. Jhumpries, glad to see you are home and doing better, a supportive family really helps, I will pray that your family comes around and rallies around you. I went through Kaiser and do not have a post op for another few weeks, confirms all drs gave different ideas. I made my family a big meatloaf dinner, I sure was tempted but had to stick to my guns, they haven't had a home cooked meal in a while and decided its not their fault so why should they suffer. They were ecstatic to smell the aroma from the kitchen, after all how many sandwiches can one take....lol. Take care
  15. Could be gas, walk around that helped me with the gas. I am started to get the hunger pains. I have been on liquids since Tuesday. I see others trying cream of wheat, I am wondering if I should try that....hmmmm

  17. Great job Jennie!! My highest weight was 301 lbs, my goal for surgery was 280 lbs, I was at 275 lbs day of surgery and today weighed in at 268! Last night was the best sleep I had, we even had an earthquake and I slept right through it....lol. I took some of the pain meds before I went to sleep to help me and it did the trick. Hopefully, you will get a good nights sleep real soon. Today I have the most energy I have had since my surgery on the 16th, think I may get out if the house Have a blessed day!
  18. Good to hear everyone doing well, I had surgery on the 16th and am down 7 lbs. I have only walked for 15 min three days but an going to increase that starting today. It's awesome to see everyone's success, keep up the good work.
