Recommended Posts

I will be brief..I have lost nothing, it's been 5 months...i am still always hungry, eating pretty much anything, although i do throw up somewhat frequently. i got a fill of .8 and was really upset, i could barely eat anything...i went to the office to be like plz take some out, it turns out i had like only .1 cc or something, and they took some out. after that i was better, but not perfect. if i dont drinks omething in the morning, like down an entire jug of something, nothing will go down, even at lunch. my first meal is always hard. but if i drink and "open the gates" or so it feels, i can eat three tacos with no problem, and sometimesm ore..and im still snacking in between. i didnt have the willpower before, and i don't have it now. the band was suppossed to help me find the way, find the light, give me the strength, help me control things, gain willpower...i am lost, sad..can anyone please give me advice ;):D

I am so sorry that you are feeling this way and not loosing the weight you so hoped for. Has your doctor talked to you about this? What does he/she say about it?

Hello Crispypanda, I just wanted to let you know that I sympathize with you. I too have problems with getting food to go down, although it only gives me problems in the morning. I have settled in with the fact that I will never have Breakfast anymore other than a Protein Shake and Vitamins. Let me ask you a question. After you got your fill did you go on liquids for 48 hours or did you stay on regular food?

Hi,

Morning eating, even drinking, is hard for lots of people. Try a Protein shake and drink it slowly...don't be in a rush. And remember, you don't have to drink a lot. I still often have trouble at lunchtime but you just need a bite or two...chew VERY slowly and a LOT! On those hard days, drink your shakes. I think you should talk to your doc about this as you don't have much of a fill.

Are you exercising? You will lose...I've been at this for TWO years now and am a slow loser, so I can sympathize with you. Talk to your doc and then make good choices for foods you can eat. I had to get past the idea that my head thought I needed to eat more than my band needed. That took me MONTHS to get used to.

Good luck and use this board for support!

Rose

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
