Student NEEDS HELP OHIO

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am a student in Ninth Grade and I am 290 pounds at 5 feet 10 inches, 14 years old, 15 years old later this month.

My mom and I have been reading about Lap Band and saw many articles where 14 and 15 year olds have had Lap Band surgery & they have been sucessful.

We are looking for Doctors that will do LAP BAND surgery on 15 years old in any part of OHIO I live around Canton, Akron, Cleveland.

Also how much have you lost after your surgery?

After the surgery will I need plastic surgery for excess skin?

If anyone can help me out please email me at nwmsfootball79@aol.com

Thanks

My doctor is in Cinci Ohio and he is the best in the world in my opinion. He is my fill doctor and he is the most kind, considerate, caring and really truly talks to you about what's going on in your life. I have lost 50 pounds in 2 1/2 months. I don't know about his age requirements but I'll sure give you his numbers and website and if you call them tell them Sherri Smith sent you. He'll get a kick out of it.

If you ever have any questions pm me and I will answer anything you want to ask. I sure wish you luck and if I can help with anything please let me know.

Dr. Aviv Ben-Meir does bands at St. Vincent Charity in Cleveland. I don't know if he has done any teens, but it would be worth a call to the Cleveland Center for Bariatrics.

I hope you find the answers you're looking for - my son is going to be 15 in April and could lose 20 lbs...It's hard going through adolescence and dealing with weight issues, too. I hope the doctors help you...This board is a great place to be for support and advice no matter how old you are. Good luck to you!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
