Can anyone describe the signs and symptoms of a gall stone Attack?

I'll be watching this thread closely myself. Last night was quite a night and I am blaming gallbladder without any other ideas. Right side, front and back, spasms that felt like a tsunami, could not take a deep breath. No nausea or bowel issues however. The clinic is trying to get my local hospital to schedule a scan here so that I do not have to drive the 3.5 hours back to Trophy Club.

Stay in touch.

For me it was an overwhelming pain around my abdomen that was sharp and random.... I thought it was bad diahrrea... nothing happened.

This went on and the pain seemed to go up my back as well. Went to ER and they found the stones... worth a look ;)

For Me.............. I thought I was dying... It started out slow... I would get sick every now and then and as the time would pass it got closer and closer. I would curl up in a ball, unable to eat without gettting sick when it got the worst. In one month I lost 30lbs because all I could eat was a turkey and cheese wrap. I felt chest pain and radiating back pain. It was so similiar to angina that my doctor sent me for a ekg, stress test and ultrasound of my heart.... Thank the good lord all that came back great... Then they chose to do an ultrasound of my gallbladder and they found multiple small stones.. Since my gallbladder removal in 2007 I have done great. Keep in mind though everyone experiences gallbladder pain different. My best friend had her's taken out last year and her pain was nothing as severe as mine...

I've wondered about the symtoms myself. I've had a dull pain across the top of my stomach and around my back with most pain centered under my breast bone. I've had a lot of gas and just the smell of food makes me sick.

Does having the sleeve increase your risk for gall stones?? If so, anyone know why and is there anything to do to avoid them?

Have seen a lot about this topic and concerned...

Losing a large amount of weight can trigger gallbladder attacks. There are several meds you can take to help prevent them. Ask your doctor and they can give you a prescription. Most pre-op patients have to have a gallbladder ultrasound, to make sure there are no stones before surgery.

I suffered from sporadic "attacks" for years before my gallbladder caused me to have pancreatitis...OUCH! Gallbladder pain for me varied between acute sharp, stabbing pain in my right side just under my ribcage radiating into my back and chronic hot, gnawing pain in my right side. Sometimes pressing my arm into my side would make it a little better, sometimes laying on my side would give me some relief, but I usually just suffered through them. When my pancreas got invited to the party my doctor told me time to get it removed. At that time I had the gnawing side pain almost constantly and what felt like a thousand needles going across the front of my abdomen along with low grade fever, nausea, and night sweats. I've not had sleeve surgery yet, just years of dieting...losing/gaining :(

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
