I miss my coffee so much and am counting the days until my first cup. Did anyone have problems with coffee when they started drinking it again?

I went back to my two cups with sugar-free vanilla Creamer every morning when I was ~2 weeks post-op I think, and have had no problems. Life is good.

at around 10 days post op I tried a little bit with SF creamer and have been drinking it since with no problems whatsoever. I stick to 1 cup/day though now. :)

No problems with coffee here. After all, I live in Seattle - home of the latte. I started out by drinking single shot expresso a couple times a week. I am now also having Cappuccino with Splenda once a week ( usually Saturday). Now I have about one coffee a day in the morning to help wake up.

Used to be a pot a day drinker, old corp habit. Even bought a can of Decaf for after surgery but found no need for it. Just decided to quit drinking it altogether and really have not missed it. Did go through about a week of headaches from withdrawal though.

I have been drinking coffee since the day after surgery in the hospital. I drink 3-4 cups a day without any problems. I do get a bit more jittery if I drink more than a few cups without eating. My Dr. said it was ok to drink coffee.< /p>

I mix or with my Protein shakes every morning.

That actually sounds good. I may try that and I'm not even post approval yet.

Wow!! I just signed on to ask about coffee because my NUT said it was not allowed and I quit pre-op. But now it's Fall and the Fall blends with spices are so attractive!! I bought the pumpkin Spice blend at Trader Joes and it tastes wonderful with Splenda and a splash of skim milk, and felt like I was committing a mortal sin by drinking it!! Now I've read all your posts, I feel better. Try this coffee, it's wonderful. (I will use in moderation, as I know nothing in excess is good for me or anyone)

Everyone's doc is different - mine has said coffee is no problem in moderation. I have some in my chocolate Protein drink every afternoon, and also have an occasional fat free latte. The latte is a splurge due to the carbs in the milk, I really watch what else I eat on those days.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
