Plesse Share Your Favorite Morning Protein Coffee Recipe Or What You Start Your Day With

Recommended Posts

I just tried and really enjoy a Protein Shake called ProJoe. I found it on the Bariatric Advantage website. 20 g of Protein. I have only tried the Chai but it's got a coffee vibe that gets me thru the day!

I eat greek yogurt with a scoop of vanilla Protein and two tsp of Fiber for Breakfast. Gives me some protein and fiber and tastes wonderful.

I use one scoop of Chike (chocolate) and one scoop of Click. It is just the right amount of sweet/coffee/caffeine/protein.

I start my day off with a Protein hot cocoa: 1c. almond milk heated to quite warm (not HOT - that will make the protein clump), add 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa (I like Ghirardelli), a generous dash of salt, and 1 scoop of chocolate Protein Powder (I use Unjury). Thin with hot Water to taste. Usually I have my coffee afterwards, but sometimes I mix in a half packet of Starbucks Via.

I'm also pretty partial to the Click Mocha, though I prefer that made into soft-serve for an afternoon or evening treat.

Yep - I said salt. Salt can help enhance sweet flavors, just as you put salt in sweet baked goods, or... think about salted caramel which is all the rage these days. To me, it helps balance the over-sweet taste of a lot of Protein powders.< /p>

coffee is an addiction..... it was the first thing I thought about after the surgery.... will I be able to drink it..... I tried but it tasted awful.... and I couldn't go through my days without caffeine.... so now, 3 months post op, I can drink half a mug.... looked for skimmed powdered milk, and found it.... for protein.... it's better than Creamer of course.... doesn't taste wonderful but it will do....

8 oz skim milk, 1 keurig cup Caramel Vanilla Green Mountain coffee (makes about 8oz) cooled in fridge (make it night before), 1 tablespoon of Torani sugar free Caramel Syrup, 1 scoop Vanilla Protein, Ice Cubes. MIX. Tastes like Starbucks, I swear, with no guilt. 32 grams of protein. And takes me about half the am to drink.

I brew my coffee then in a Blender Bottle I blend 1/2 cup skim milk, a few vanilla stevia drops and SF vanilla creamer with a scoop of vanilla Protein. I mix everything but the coffee in my blender bottle then slowly pour the hot coffee inside (so it doesn't clump) sounds like a lot of vanilla, but that's how I like it ;)

I see a lot of posts about Torani sugar free Syrup. Is that something I can find in a grocery store or online?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
