Hello Everyone.

I just had my 2nd Appointment yesterday in Hamilton, New Jersey NJ with

Dr. Yelizaveta Lisa Dobruskin.

My surgery will be in January, 2013.

www.jerseybariatrics.com

I just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully run a diary of happenings during this WLS Journey. I anderstand it will be a life time commitment.

My stats:

I am 40+, African American / Black,

4'11 and 225lbs. Mother of two and recently divorced.

I am not sure if stats are used in terms of comparisons of progress but I will try to remember that my progress is mine alone. I will be successful in this journey. I will try to stay positive. I will hopefully have no regrets and very little to no complications.

The Serenity Prayer is a good inserted here:

Lord grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change;

To change the things I can;

and the Wisdom to know the difference.

--Ah!men--

Woot- Hoot for the January 2013 starters!!!

I had a friend that was told that. They say policies change every year. But she was also told if you were approved already you was covered under the old policy. I was approved in to days with United Heath Care

I just downloaded a countdown app for my big day!!! I hate to waste away the holiday season' date=' but this year couldn't be over fast enough. I'm ready to embark on my new upcoming life![/quote']

OMG. I did the same thing. Lol. Yesterday I was telling my husband I had 80 days to go...and he asked me if I had a countdown app...I was like, " that's A good idea...."

Good luck on your journey. :)

January 15th for me, unless they get a cancellation for this year. I have to pay the deductible, so this year would be about $500 less. I can't believe it! I am new here, but everyone seems so supportive, and it's a comfort knowing that I am not alone! Good luck to all! :)

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
      Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

      Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

      Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
