just wondering.. for those of you who are 5-6 weeks post op, are you eating pretty much everything now? I'm eating "real food" and still drinking a shake everyday but have been nervous to try salad or steak..

what are YOU eating? :)

I'm at 5 weeks...still on soft food until 6 wks. So ready for something to chew!

Bukki: It doesn't sound like you're getting enough calories in. You need snacks. I just cannot make it without a snack. Just can't eat much and then you're empty pretty quickly. I'm hungry like every two hours. Bring on the cheese sticks.

Momto3girls: Don't eat that stuff tomorrow. You are allowed to have a bad day. But not a bad week. Plan your meals, bring your snacks with you. And like Newgrandmother said, breathe. Or as I would say Chill-ax. Go take a walk in this beautiful fall weather. Plan for trick or treaters. Take a nap. That has been my biggest issue. We are still recovering. We had major reconstructive surgery inside our bellies. Gotta get healed well and completely and gotta get used to it.

Congrats that's good - here's my stats

Starting weight 242

Surgery weight 222

Today's weight 203

Total lost 39lbs

So ready to be under that 200' date=' but looks like we'll both be under that mark very soon... I wish you more continued success... Still want to go to that support group but having a few issues... 1st day back @ work was yesterday - I did ok but barely ate - been having dizzy spells & some nausea - left work today after being there for 45 - I was so dizzy - went to my family Dr this afternoon & then go to surgery Dr in the morning - might be goin back on leave - my family Dr doesn't want me driving or going to work w/ the dizziness I'm having - she adjusted my blood pressure meds... Having tingling feelings in my legs for the past week -feeling tired all the time so they did blood work - so we'll see what happens... Some days I eat ok others food makes me sick even looking @ it...

I have to admit you brought a smile/laugh to my face just now....reading "beautiful fall weather" hahaha! It is still 86-88 degrees everyday and humid here in Houston. ugh!!! My hubby is in MN on business and it is snowing there already. I told him to bring it home with him. Geez, you'd think by Oct 25th us Houstonians would be able to catch a break. Anyway, thanks all for your support. I did not sleep well last night and am absolutely worn down and out today so I know this is not helping my situation. I look forward to a better day tomorrow. And Saturday I return to my job as a ER nurse. Maybe then I will quit feeling sorry for myself to concentrate on helping really sick people survive. Just a thought.

I understand some of the feelings j am reading here. I am feeling a little down today and have been snacking. They have been good snacking/grazing but non the less. J did not go and walk today or do any exercises. Just don't feel like doing anything.

I am losing slow. Pre op 204 lbs sleeved 9/19 196lbs today 177 lbs. 27 lbs total. I walk every day ' date=' do resistance band/ body sculpting every other day. What's going on. I am not doing the shakes anymore and now my protein is down because I can only take in about 1/4 cup of food if that..... Very discouraging <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />[/quote']

I had my surgery on 9/19 as well. I have also lost 27 lbs as of today and the doctor says that's good...if u lose it too fast you'll have a lot of extra skin... :)

READY where in the he double hockey sticks have you been girlie. ok read more and see. i really hope you get better girl. im shocked they didnt take you off the meds. when dizzy that normally means your pressure is to low

I been just laying low ig - lol... Some days are good others are like ugh but I'm hang'n in there...

Yes the dizziness is crazy but my pressure has been up & down & bottom # seems to be high - I just feel so whacky & out of it - I feel tired a lot but hopefully all this will go away soon... Thanks NG & I tried the cottage cheese - don't like it @ all & am not a fan of Greek yogurt either but I found another yogurt I like that has 12g of protein & that goes down ok...

Stuck feeling is somewhat gone, it seems to depend on what I eat how it goes down - I hope to be better soon but the dizziness & tiredness is crazy - we shall see what happens...

& yes soon we will go, keep in touch & I'll do the same

Went to a support group meeting this week. It was so nice to talk face to face with other people who have had WLS. Many of them were sleevers. There were people 3 years out to people with upcoming surgeries. It is a long drive but I have 2 friends that go too so it is nice to have the "pre-support group" on the way there. lol

So lucky to have 2 friends in the same boat as I am. One had her sleeve 1 month before me and the other is getting hers on Tuesday. (2 months after me) Love having friends to talk to about this!

sue which one. i go to playa vista. didnt go to the last one though. i love support group.

well fellow sleevers i wanted something gooey and bad because the joy of eating is no longer there so i just wanted to see what was going on. so i went to wendy's got a single with cheese no mayo and a small fry, lets just say i wasted $5 ate less than half of the burger and a few fries and i started feeling a fullness in my chest which means my sleeve had to be full to the top lol. i can get use to this way of life.

It was the support group at the clinic where Bariatric Surgery is in St. Louis Park MN.

The team at Park Nicollet is awesome!!! One of the Nurse Clinitians runs it and she is awesome. They have it 2x a month

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to start out by saying everyone seems to be doing well and keep up the good work. For those that had/have complications I hope they will soon be resolved. I was sleeved on 9/18 with a starting weight of 204 and current weight of 180. I have been in a stall for a few weeks but have been loosing inches. I joined a gym today and looking forward to exercising and getting the scale moving again.
