Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call

Seems like most of us are doing well. Congrats to everyone on their weight loss progress. I have not noticed any shedding of my hair that is more then usual. Even though I am in need of a hair cut. Once I get to my mini goal (5 pounds away) I am treating myself to the salon for a new hair style. Tara

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call

I finally broke my stall. I had been stuck at 25 pounds lost for about 2 weeks. Very frustrating. Well the past few days I have been losing a pound a day. I didn't change anything just kept following the rules. I guess my body finally desided to cooperate. Good luck. Tara

I have lost 25 pounds. I have been in a stall but, know I lost inches since I went down another pant size. I joined a gym on Friday hoping that will help the scale move again. I had no complications with surgery and recovery. I have been able to eat anything try without issues. Good luck to everyone. Keep up the good work. Tara

    Meatballs?

I had bought some vegetarian meatballs and had them at 4 weeks post-op. They had 13 grams of protien per serving. I could only eat a half serving. They went down fine. My program said to go easy on red meats that some people have a hard time digesting it. Hope I was helpful. Tara

  17. I love the website skinnytaste.com to get recipes from. She is a lady who does weight watchers. All is the recipes have a break down of calories, carbs, and protien. I made a lot of her recipes pre-op and everyone liked them. I am 3 weeks post-op and not on real food yet but I love her food. Good luck
  18. Sorry took so long to get back to you on the recipe for the chicken. You take out the amount of chicken breast you need I used one pound. Place thawed chicken breast in the crock pot. In a small bowl mix 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce, 1/4 sugar substitute( I used Truvia) 3 Tablespoons of cidar vinager, 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/4 teaspoon pepper and 3 cloves of garlic minced. Pour over chicken. Cook on low 6 hours. Remove chicken from the pot. It should be fork tender. At this step I removed my portion of the chicken and set it aside. Pour the sauce from the crock pot to a small sauce pan bring it to a boil. In a measuring cup mix a 1/4 cup it Water with 2 tablespoons of corn starch. Pour mixture into sauce. Mix for a few minutes for the sauce to thicken. I served this with brown rice. I put the brown rice on the plate with chicken on top and poured the sauce over the chicken. Tara
  19. Do you have a crock pot? There are many healthy recipes you can make. For example tonight we are having a teriyaki chicken in the crock pot. When the chicken is done I am able to shred some up for me. The rest of the family will have the chicken served over rice with steamed green beans on the side. I like doing my meat in the crock pot because it comes out moist and very easy to shred. I have also made chicken taco chili, white bean chili, balsamic and paramesan pork loin.

  21. They normally post the meeting schedule a few months in advance. I only know up to Sept. since that is my last one. The Sept. meeting is Sept. 13th at 430pm at general surgery. When u go to general surgery on Friday ask about the meeting schedule. Good luck Tara
  22. This is our first time not meeting at general surgery. Nurse Massari is the coordinator and she will be there. They did not say exactly where to meet. I would say look for a group of about 20 people. There will be pre-op and post-op people there. See you there. Tara
  23. Also they let me schedule surgery this month. I have everything done but the support groups. My last support group meeting is Sept. 13th my surgery date is Sept. 18th. They let me schedule now and told me if I miss any they will cancel my surgery and push me back until I have 5 meeting. Tara
