Gallbladder Surgery 11 Months After Sleeved! Question?

Recommended Posts

On September 11th I had my gallbladder removed. They were able to do it laproscopic, my question is 3 days later I have been short of breath and wheezing? No other symptoms. I called yesterday and they thought it was the Percoset, so I stopped it and I am still wheezing. I just called again and left a message for my doctor. I did not have this after my sleeve, anyone know what this could be? Is it normal? Thank you for any advice:)

Percocet may take some time to exit the body...if you were having a side effect from that, maybe you still are. You might still have partially collapsed lungs. The treatment for both is deep breathing, coughing, and walking around. You may coincidentally be developing asthma. Even for that...deep breathing and trying to elongate your chest when you are sitting and walking, helps.

Definitely tell the doctor. I'd call daily. Maybe you need a temporary albuterol inhaler....it's a rescue inhaler that we, asthmatics use, and it works well. Drink plenty of Water, too.

I am so sorry that you had to have another surgery. That truly stinks, and I cannot imagine what that must be like, and I pray that I don't need another one...because I could barely get by from the pain of the other one...torture is what it is.

God bless you and keep you safe!

Feel better. What were your symptoms for the gallbladder? I'm having a hida scan this week and might have mine out soon. I'm about 8 months out.

What really leads to having the gall bladder removed? I eat a very high Protein diet and am wondering if this is going to be a problem with the gallbladder eventually. I eat up to 125 gram a day and am about 2.5 months out.

I had several gallbladder attacks. Pain so bad under ur ribs and shoot to ur back, chest and make u feel like u are having a heart attack. The hida scan will only show if ur gallbladder stopped functioning not stones ..the only thing that shows gallstones is the ultrasound. Make them do it. My symptoms were Constipation then it would be bad diarrhea..at first. Then when it got really bad I started with the nausea, vomiting and no appetite. I was like that for several weeks because I was scared of more doctor bills and being told it was constipation but I insisted on the ultrasound this time and they said it was full of stones and now infected. Had to come out. 39% of people that loose weight rapidly get stones. Especially weight loss surgery patients but I don't know why it happens and I don't think it has anything to do with what u eat because I eat extremely healthy. I was miserable for months and so disgusted my doctor took so long to diagnose me.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
