5 Days Post Op Side Feels Like I've Been Run Over By A Truck And It Hurts When I Breathe!

Had my sleeve on the 4th and I'm trying really hard to be positive but it hurts so bad to breathe, to move ,to laugh. I honestly don't think if eating a cup of anything in 5 days because it seems like it gets caught in my throat and chest and hurts to go down. The only thing that works is water and popsicles!

Have not be to the bathroom since before surgery ( bowel movement). Everything smells aweful...sometimes I think this is the best thing I could have ever done so I will post positive comments then my body starts laughing at me and snaps me back to my reality!! Please tell me this will pass..just want the pain to stop

Did your doctor give you a plastic device to inhale 10 times a hour. This device is very important. I had the surgery on the 7 with no bowel yet.

Hey there! I can relate about all the meds. I have auto-immune issues and was told I needed to add another pill to my regime. I actually heard mental brakes (like gears grinding to a stop) and thought NO MORE!! My doc suggested WLS and probably saved my life.

Hang in there! It does get better. Make sure you follow your docs orders to a 'T'!! Everyone here is different and their docs have their own reasons.

Also' date=' I'm a bit confused. You say you are alone in this journey, yet you mentioned your daughters helping you take a walk? That's great if you have support![/quote']

My daughters ate both in college they came home this past weekend it was my bday...their amazing girls and I don't want then stressing out about me...because they won't go back to school...

Yes I have it...I use it not as often as I probably should but at least 3x a day

use your spirometer for breathing as much as you were told to. Also drink fluids ALL day get some G2 Gatorade it will help with energy you will be soar and tired if you are getting dehydrated.

I was sleeved on June 18, 2012 , I was one of the people that like y'all had a lot of pain, it made me mad to read about these people that went shopping and walked for hours, NOT ME! It took me almost 5 weeks before I even felt like getting out of the house, I just felt like crap every day. The moment I finally knew I was going to be ok was almost 5 weeks out when I was in the shower and I shaved my own legs, I was crying when I got out of the shower and my grown daughter who is an RN thought something was wrong and I said nothing's wrong I'm just so happy to be feeling normal again! Fast forward to 3 months post op and I'm down 72 lbs and heck yes it was worth every stinkin pain I had to endure! Hang in there cause I promise "This to shall pass"!
