October 2006 Bandsters!

Calling all October bandsters...

I just wanted to start a thread where everyone can post their surgery dates and we can compare notes.

I am scheduled for 10/18. I have ALL my pre-op stuff done as of last week. I start Protein shake diet on 10/4. :)

How is everyone else doing getting their pre-op stuff scheduled?

I WAS JUST BANDED 10-12-06, I THINK I AM DOING PRETTY GOOD, JUST A LITTLE WEAK. NICE TO MEET ALL:clap2: ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO GET THE FICKERFACTORY DEEAL TO WORK I CANNOT GET IT?

transpo1 - after you enter your information on ticker factory, you need to copy the "bbc code" and go to "user cp" on LBT, click "edit signature" and paste the url address to the bottom of your signature. That should do it.

Isn't it funny how we all have different diets to follow afterwards? I am on clear liquids for a week and then I can go to anything thru a straw for week 2 and then in week 3 it's mushies and then finally in week 4 SOLIDS!!! I have been having slim fast and the yogurt smoothies which really help with the so called "head hunger". I have lost 16 lbs since the 2nd, 10 on the pre-op and then 6 this week! I have been feeling awesome! Went shopping day after, and came home, cleaned house, defrosted freezer, decorated for halloween, grocery shopped for hubby and just been trying to stay busy so I don't think about anything but getting skinny!

No problem Mark! Glad we got you up and running.

Hello All!

Boy , I'm away for a day or two and I miss a lot! 38 of us banded so far and more on the way? Is that right? Wow!

Quick post for me today. Ok, skin beginning to get loose, not really pretty. Plus, it'll get worse.

My weight loss has slowed down, but I am feeling better. A lot better!

Jess

Hello everybody..Well...I have less than 24 hours to go and than i go get the band. I must say these antibotics the doctor gave me are rogh. Also that Fleet Phaso Soda is a mess. I mean a mess...lol...anyay, i think I'm flushed out now. I will check in with everybody after i get back from the hospital. Wish me luck & I'll see you in a few

I am so happy everyone is doing great!!! I am on for Tuesday 5am-surgery 7:30am.

But I can't find in my directions at all about only having clear Liquids the day before the surgery but I swear I read that somewhere. Does anyone know what I can do the day before my surgery?????

Hi Purtynailz,

Usually 8 hours before surgery the patient gets nothing, not even water. With Dr. Ortiz I was told to stop eating and drinking by midnight the night before.

Hope this helps

Jess

Purtynailz I would call your doctor's office and speak with them. I was just told to eat lightly the day before. Oatmeal for breakfast, small sandwich for lunch, soup for dinner. Nothing to eat after 7pm, nothing to drink after midnight. But again - check with your doctor.

I agree with Chrispygal...call your doctor's office to see what they would like you to do. If there is one thing that you learn really quickly on here is that every doctor has different requirements for his or her patients. For example, I didn't have to have a special pre op diet and that my only requirement before surgery was nothing to eat or drink after midnight the night before.

However, my post op diet seems to be a lot more strict than a lot of the others I see here. The best thing is to follow what your doctor tells you to do. At least that's my opinion.

Tomorrow it will be one week post op for me. As of this morning, I am down 11# and going strong. :clap2:
