October 2006 Bandsters!

Recommended Posts

Hi everone I was banded on 10/28/06, I started out great lost 65lbs and then in July of 06 found out my port was flipped and the fills are harder to do now and since then i have not been able to loose anymore weight. It seens like when i get my fill it is fine for about 2 weeks and then I don't seem to have anymore restrictions. I asked my Dr. if it was because of the flipped port and he said no because he is able to fill it. I have had about 8 fills since sugery. I am seeing him on FRiday and have a ton of questions for him. I was hoping to be at goal by now.Arggggggg. It is really starting to get to me. Well thanks for listening to me and if anyone has any input feel free to leave it.lol I love this site and the chat room is also great.

Im glad to see all of you doing so well. I was banded 10/26/06 I have about 36lbs to go. I had my 3rd fill 9/07. I have joined WW at work and droped another 3.6lbs in two weeks. I workout 6 days a week -spin, kickbox, and weights some cardio on TM and Eliptical. I have recently added mypolex lite, lipo-6 and Nitro Explosion into my workout/nutrition routine and it is working. I can finally take an after picture. When I lost the first 35lbs I cut my hair and I love it. Once I figure out the whole picture thing I will post the pics.

Hello everyone, Just stopped by to see the lastest post. Seems like everyone is doing good. I am still at the weight I was after my loss from the band. I am at 7 cc's and the dr won't give me another fill, says the band is doing what it is suppose to do. (I am not ever hungry) He said there is new findings. He said everyone is making their band, not working cuz they keep filling it when they don't need it. He said " when you have it filled you can't eat much so you drink and then you are hungry all the time. So then you start being bad and it stops working. So he threw the needle and everything in the trash. What does everyone think about that???????????

I have joined weight watchers and I will never give up, I can't.

My daughter is getting married in July and I want to be in a size 14 aleast.

I want to see everyone that used to be on here talking I miss everyone alot. Shirley thanks for keeping the tread going. LOL

Also good luck with the back surgery.

Mary

I had ovarian cancer last April and they didn't unfill me and I was missable, it was so tight, that I could only eat a bite of pudding. I tell everyone to have it unfilled when you have surgery.........

sorry to hear about your cancer, i hope are now cancer free.

that's good to hear about the unfill. i am going in for plastics (in 2 days!!) and did get completely unfilled. i am really quite hungry and have actually gained a couple, but i think being too tight after surgery and possibly nauseated, would not be a good thing.

Hello Everyone, I know it has been a very long time since I have posted anything, hope yall remember me. I have been doing well. I am now 31 weeks pregnant and havent gained a pound...lol. As a matter of fact I have lost 15lbs while being pregnant. The bouncing baby boy in my tummy is doing wonderful. I think he is eating my thighs, which is fine by me. So my overall weight loss has been put on hold until after May 10, which is my due date. I just wanted to let yall know that you can have a healthy pregnancy with the band. I have not had an unfill at all. Dr said no need unless I begin to have problems. I am glad to see all of yall are doing well. Talk to yall soon!

That really sounds like a bounceing baby boy. Hopefully he'll keep you on your toes, and you'll still have even greater success with the weight loss. CONGRATS!!! Shirley..

It's been awhile since I have checked in here. Good to see most are doing well. I've had my ups and downs. Things are going kind of slow right now. It's not the band it's me. I have just not been making good choices. And also eating more than I should be. Seems like I just try to see how much I can eat instead of how much I should eat. Going back to some of my old eating habits. Need to stop that.

I love my band and have lost 143 pounds because of it.

Good Luck to all of you.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
