As I've been reading thru the posts, I have learned that following the dr. recommended diet after surgery is very important for healing and to try and avoid leakage. Is there a point when leaking is no longer an issue or can it happen at any time?

I think after about 6 months your stomach if fully healed and the risk of a leak is virtually nil. Like I always say though, when in doubt, ask your Doctor. Others more in the know will weigh in on the subject I'm sure.

Ask your dr. Whenever I got a leak and asked mine, I was shocked to know it can happen a lot longer out than I thought. But more than likely it won't happen. Ask your dr. to be sure pls.

I am still in the beginning stages of insurance qualifications, but I will be sure to ask doc.
