12 Day Clear Liquid Diet - Anyone Else On This?

Recommended Posts

My surgery is on Sept 4th. VERY EXCITED but I am starving. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas about how to curb the appetite during these dreadful days? I am 3 days down 9 to go but I don't want to fail hoping for some great thought starters from all you successful sleevers out there!

you are on 12 days of Clear Liquids? ?? that seems odd..... there is no protien in clear liquids usually. Seems like a good way to make your body weak for surgery? Any one else have any thoughts? I would not been able to do clear liquids only for 12 days pre-op. Post op yes.....

I am allowed to have 4 oz of cottage cheese per day, 1 string cheese and 8 oz of milk. I take all of my Vitamins and then Soups and sugar free carb free drinks. I also am allowed to have three Protein Shakes per day. But...still starving!

I found out yesterday that my surgery is scheduled for 9/4/12 :) I started the liquid diet today, but it's not Clear Liquids only and also allows for yogurt, sugar free pudding, low fat cream Soups and Protein Shakes. I envy your cottage cheese and string cheese. I am hungry too, so grateful it's only 10 days of this. To avoid cheating, I am mindful that the smaller liver will make for an easier surgery. I wish you the best and I feel your pain :)

I am on day 5 of liquids. 4 Protein Shakes a day, I can also have SF Jello, SF popscicles, and broth. I am hungry today, but it is the first day I have really been hungry.

Stop to think is it head hunger? Am I really just thirsty? Have a glass of Water wait 10 minutes and then see if you are still hungry.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
