I am on a high protein/low carb diet until next Saturday. Then clear liquids for one day. I am trying to eat several small meals and increase my Protein. I am working hard to get all of my Water in. I am down to only one diet coke a day. I have been a huge caffeine junkie for many years. I am trying hard to stop before the big day.

You are preaching to the choir when you talk about diet cokes! I was at least a 6 pack a day..even had one on my nightstand every night. I'm down to one as well. Not fun. But, I was told that if I HAD to have one after the surgery and it was driving me nuts, I could have a FLAT CAFFEINE FREE one. LOL. I just keeping repeating the mantra "nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels". I'm guzzling water and have to pee constantly! I hope that constant urge to go will dissipate. They say its just all the water weight and that my body was holding on to it because I never had enough water and now that I am, it's letting it go. I tried to mix it up a bit with crystal light but it just didn't do it for me! Not a fan of the crystal light. A friend of mine turned me on to the Mio Water Enhancers and they are terrific!!!!!! So many flavors...the orange makes it taste exactly like orange soda but without the fizz. Black cheery the same. I'm going to go to target tomorrow to see if the have a cola flavor. I highly suggest them. You add as much as you want until the flavor works for you.

I feel better knowing I am not alone in the diet coke battle. My PCP's nurse has RNY and didn't stop until she had surgery. She said she didn't have any problems stopping. I keep hoping that I won't like the taste of them afterwards. But I am learning it is so much a bad habit than the flavor. Now that I am down to one they taste soooo sweet. Mio sounds yummy I will have to try it for sure. I have been trying the crystal light but its not really that good. I like the Wal-Mart sugar free cherry.

I tried going cold turkey the other day and had a bad headache and then realized I can't take aspirin!!! So I had one. Not allowed aspirin or even Tylenol until after surgery and then it's only children's Tylenol.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
