The Stuff They Don't Tell You

See' date=' the surgery is causing memory loss.

I need some gremlins....doh.....damn spell checker.

Besides keeping you regular, the chia seeds actually work to restore memory function. They help keep you hydrated, slow down carb absorbtion and help keep blood sugar levels even, thus reducing Insulin spikes. They also mow the lawn and help make the house note.

That tears it. I'm going to Whole Paycheck and getting the chis seeds. I HATE mowing the damned lawn.

My lawn mower guy is $35 a week. My Protein costs more than that. We must have priorities!

But getting the lawnmower guy officially relieved DH of the sole remaining job that was actually HIS, so what did I really accomplish?

Tang?

I started using ....what's it called....the powder in the orange bottle.

Miralax is fantastic, I take a dose a day in the evening and have normal poops the next day. It may take a couple of days to kick in but take it every day.

Metamucil

Citrucel is like that too. Tastes like tang. Imagine my surprise when it solidified. Weird practical joke would be to replace someones Orange Crystal Light with some of that. WTH???!!

Well yeah! Don't they let you walk at all? Too bad you cannot get into a pool yet. Maybe a few weeks from now? Zero gravity would feel nice :-)

I wish I was educated on the emotional stress you go through after surgery. I was very weepy and anxious partly becuase of the loss of my old eating habits, not being able to pick my children up , feeling selfish and a bit worthless becuase I couldn't take care of the family as I needed. It was alot to adjust to at first and 3 weeks later I've finally come to terms with my new life and embracing each and every pound with joy . As I said earlier I just wish I would have been prepared for the emotions!!!

Honestly, even if you were told, you may not hv fully understood it until facing it & actually going through it. Its Great that you hv come through the emotional part on top. Its a lot to deal with physically & emotionally. Thank God we are survivors.

I can't walk alone because the Valium is turning me into a zombie. Aside from dr appts I can't leave the house for at least six weeks. I am now officially a drug addled hermit, locked up in room six (we live in an old hotel). 100 years ago it was a women's hospital. They locked them up in the rooms and fed them opium. My how things have not changed!

I also was not told about the catheter that they placed durning surgery and didn't remove until 24 hours after surgery. I was NOT prepared for that or the horrible bladder spasms I had every hour !!!

Bladder spasms??? I'm afraid to ask what that is.

I, on the other hand, didn't have a catheter and wished I had. I had to go but couldn't, those muscles just wouldn't work for about 12 hours.

Butterthebean - you may have been having bladder spasms & that's why you had problems going. ;-)

Oh yeah the flood of hormones sends you la la!

Its up and down and side ways laughing one second crying your eyes out the next its really crazy stuff!

Several points I was watching or reading some funny stuff and laughing so hard I started to cry laughing which then just turned in seconds to me sobbing my heart out and I have no idea why then you start laughing again.

Thankfully that crazy flood didn’t last too many weeks with me maybe at a push 3 then back to normal me.

On another not I wasn’t catheter and I went just fine 1 hour after my op soon as I got on the ward and changed into my clothes I went and used the bathroom then zonked out in bed, had no problem going for the whole time I was in there 2 days on iv 1 off and drinking.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
