@kinnymomX3

I know exactly how u feel I love my son to death he is 5 yrs old n my niece is 12 they argue like cats and dogs. You would think that the 12 yr old would be very mature but NOOOOO not her. I had my surgery on 8/14 I came home to both those kids . I couldnt believe that my sister left me here alone with two kids so soon. I couldnt yell cause I thought my stomach was ripping apart. So I had to call my sons godmother to come get him for the wknd n it worked out well cause my niece helped me all wknd but that first nite I cried because I was overwhelmed n then I was crying cause the pain from crying was unbearable but I couldnt stop crying. Kinnymomx3 it will get better if your 7 yr old wants to help let him help you n try to relax

Teenagers can be such a$$holes sometimes! I stayed at my parents house after surgery just so my mom could help when she got home from work, but low and behold my 16 y/o nephew was such a blessing! He took my son every day after school and played with him for an hour or two so I could nap.

I went in their rooms and explained everything to them . I hope they understand I took my three year old and put him in the bed with me and read his favorite book "I 'll love you forever" three times. His father came and got him and took him upstairs to his bed . When he came back down I cried in his arms for a few minutes and I feel better. I took so pain meds tonight becuase I'm a little more tender than usual and now in nauseated...great :( goodnight

I have a 5 and a 6 yr old. My son walked in the house the day I got home from the hospital and asked me was I still fat. I was like what! And he repeated it so with my quick reflexes I asked him was he still fat. He's a joker so he says yes. But it took me about 10 min to calm down and I talk to him and apologized but I also let him know how rude he was. I'm staying with my mother in law so I have lots of help but my husband has surgery on his ankle on Tues so we will both be cripple. Love my mother in law.

You are mourning the end of a lifelong relationship with food. This is a grieving period. If you are like most moms, you are feeling selfish for doing something for yourself so there is an added level of guilt which you are overcompensating for by being mad at yourself. Subconsciously you are defending yourself from your family from what you think they think about you. You need to stop, breath, rest and remember that it is ok to have these feelings but it is not ok to lash out at them. It will get better but do not be afraid to ask for help if you find the emotions do not go away. Professional counseling can do wonders. In the meantime, we are here for you. Glad you voiced.

      I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

        So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

      I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

        That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

        I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

        Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
