I would love to get to 125-130 lbs! We will have to keep in touch and encourage each other <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

That is just crazy that you were also 188. Definitely...when I'm on the computer I'll add you as a friend. If you ever prefer texting, feel free! 925-785-4828...I'm in CA. I text my best friend all the time because she wants to know every detail but she's thin so it's not the same. Lol Are you on Facebook?

Awesome. I haven't announced my surgery to anyone but close friends and family. So the Facebook world is in the dark. :)

I haven't said anything either to any of my Facebook friends. I didn't want the negative feedback.

I go back to work on the 23rd (I work at a high school so I had the summer off) and I've been agonizing over what to tell people. Gallbladder surgery which prompted a new diet? Paleo diet? Just eating less and exercising? Im just gonna go with changing my habits. I've had high blood pressure and it's actually normal now! Hoping to get off meds soon...I meet with my pcp on the 27th so I'm going to ask. I don't think anyone at work would suspect surgery because no one thought I was THAT big (according to my sister), but if I drop 60 lbs within 6 months, that just seems really hard to do with changing my diet...

Oh well we'll just take it a day at a time.

I'm just telling everyone I had gallbladder surgery if anyone asks. The few people I have told was against it saying I wasn't near big enough. I have high blood pressure and diabetes so I feel like that's a good enough excuse! I'm just looking forward to not taking any more pills!!!! Yay!!!

I'm sure you'll be cured of both soon!

I would love to know how y'all have done?! I'm also a low BMI 33. I have surgery in about three weeks. So it would be nice to see where you are at now?

I get so tired of hearing "you're not big enough" just because people get so used to seeing us 80-100 lbs over weight. My mom had the Gastric bypass last year and wants to lose 20 more, and the other day my sister told her she didn't need to lose anymore because she was skinny enough. But who is she (someone who has never has issues with weight) to decide what is an appropriate weight. We've just never seen my mom at a healthy weight. I am proud for her and look forward to getting there too, but do not look forward to every one else's opinions. Lol

When is your surgery? Mine is April 3rd in Dallas Texas. My bmi is also 33 and my mother had bypass last year too, lol what are the odds? I start my liquid diet next week and that kinda worries me. I've tried liquid diets before and it was very very hard!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
