Hello My Sleeve Fam,

I am 7 weeks post op and 43lbs. down. I stated losing 2 to 3 lbs. per week around week 4. Is this good or slow? Not complaining but I am open for ideas to maximize my weight loss!

Best Wishes to All,

Shun

That's pretty good. I'm 4 months postop and loose about 2 pounds a week and have done so since I had the procedure with the exception of the first week I lost about 7-8 pounds.

I think that's normal. At least it is for me. I'm 5.5 weeks out.

I am at 8 and I've slowed to about 2 lbs a week and went over a week without losing. I am at about 540 calories, 20 grams of carbs and 60-70 Protein. I am trying to figure out how to squeek in more Protein and a little more calories because this slowed down way too much for me.

When I was eating 800-900 calories 45-75 carbs and 80 grams of protein pre-surgery I was losing a little faster. I realize my body is rearranging a lot right now, because I look smaller and clothes are getting even loser and I am gaining muscle weight.

I am trying hard to be patient because eventually it has to stop the "starvation mode" and the weight has to drop, but I have a goal weight by September 1st.

I have had days where I lost a pound a day for 2 or 3 days and then nothing for a week, so I am hoping that pound a day picks up again ;)

Sometimes I feel like I need to shock the system, add more carbs and calories for a day, even if I gain a pound, then go back to my normal way and it will start working. Luckily I see nutritionist and nurse next Monday and maybe they can kick-start me again. I am sure they are going to make me take in more calories and kick up my carbs too, I am one of those that likes to eat 3 times a day, and 5 times is just too much for me.

Chitowngirl, that has also been my experience. The first week after wls I lost about 10lbs and it has been an average of 3lbs per week since. My feeling is, as long as I am losing I am satisfied because I am going in the right direction. Good luck to you on the rest of your journey.

I lost 14 pounds on my 2 week preop diet and 35 pounds since my surgery 9 weeks ago for a total of 49 pounds. If you average my total weight loss since I started my preop diet, I'm averaging 4.45 pounds a week. If you average my weight loss since surgery, I'm avering 3.89 pounds a week.

that's good! you don't wanna lose too quickly... give your skin time to go back to normal. I am 12 weeks out and I alm at 42lb loss.. an average of 3.5 week... there have been some weeks that I haven't lost anything :(

Congrats on 2 lb a week loss!!!! Any loss is a GREAT loss!

Although you may see others post big loss numbers, dont be discouraged, slow and steady you will get to your goal!

I know it can be hard, I had a few upset weeks.... 1/2 lb loss in one week.. ugh.. and then you have a bout with the scale not moving at all... It's o.k... slow & steady... keep focused!

Good Luck

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
