Week 6, Nothing Staying Down.

Recommended Posts

I'm going through alot of stress to say the least at work. When I come home, I dread eating but it's the "norm" for our family. No matter what I eat, before I finish, I'm running to the bathroom throwing up. Doesn't matter if its toast, steamed veggies or cream Soup. I despise having to eat anymore. I wake up with such a burning in my throat from acid reflux even though Im taking prilosec the doctor gave me when I left the hospital. I can't quench my thirst no matter what I try. I feel like I'm losing my mind. I did get back on my depression meds this past weekend. They have made changes at work and moved our department in with another, added duties and more to come and no pay raise. I'm so mad I can't get past it which makes going to work a dreaded task. I hate going to bed because I know I have to go face work again. This is a job I used to LOVE not 3 months ago. I hate shake drinks, won't tough powder anything every again. On top of it all, Im on another stall. What do I do? What do I eat? DO I go back to liquids? Tomorrow is the monthly support group. I'll be there but need advice and not the same two or three people hogging the entire meeting with guess whats going on with me.....Yes, thats the mad part in me coming out. Please advise.........

Prilosec did not work for me, but Protonix did. I wasn't able to keep anything down until my doctor changed me to the Protonix. Maybe you could ask for another kind or dose of PPI?

I'm very sorry about your work situation. I've had a job that I hated and it was rough! I love my job now, but still dreading Monday. Praying things get better for you!

Good advice. If the PPI you're taking doesn't work, ask your dr for something else until you get one that does work. On the other front, work problems come and go. Don't let this situation sabatoge your weight loss or your job! Get the nutition you need somehow. Try the Protein Shake options until you find something that works. For the job, look for something else or make lemonade out of those lemons you've been handed. I know! I had a job I loved until March of this year. I tried to stick it out but it just got worse. Had a great interview for a position in another department Friday. I hope you start feeling better. We're all here for you :) so keep us posted.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
