Feedback On Dr. Castaneda In Puerto Vallarta

Hi - I am new to the board. Scheduled for surgery on august 23rd with Dr. Castaneda in puerto vallarta. Traveling from Seattle. I don't see him discussed often so hoping someone might be out there that used him.

Good to hear from you! How are you feeling?

I am 5 1/2 weeks post op and down 22 pounds. I was excited to see the 180's today. Also started a box for clothes that are getting to big. A little disappointed that I did a major wardrobe upgrade this last year.....not getting much use out of my new clothes.

Well that sucks but the good thing is that ur getting smaller n not the bigger :) lol and thats always exciteing im great u wouldnt think i had surgery last week except ive lost 23 lbs since my pre op diet n my family say i do look smaller but i dnt feel it since im so bloated or atleast feel that way..... Wat r your base foods if u dnt mind asking?

Hi all, I'm 2 weeks post op as of today and I have to say, the past 2 days have been rough. I'm not sure if it's maybe just some bruising and healing I'm feeling inside, but I do have some abdominal pain. It's nothing horrible or any sharp pains....best way to describe is that I feel like I've done 1000 sit ups. Took it very easy last night and going to as much as possible for the next few days. Hope it goes away soon.

On the plus side, I'm down 24 lbs!! Feels great!!

I am haveing sharp pains i didnt expierence any pain in mx they jus started these past two days idk i hope it goes away soon n i hope it isnt anything serious but healing idk i feel so tired but then again i dnt think i rested like i should.....

If something is seriously wrong, I think you'll know. I had 2 days of non stop abdominal pain but it is getting better. To think about the major surgery that we've had, it is normal to have pains as our bodies heal and adjust. If you have pain killers, take them. If not, get some! And if you are very concerned, I suggest seeing your doc. Did you get yeast infection from your antibiotics? I got it, plus thrush in my mouth. Apparently its common. I'm being treated for both right now. Take care and hope you feel better soon. Get lots of rest and don't over do it.

  • 2 weeks later...

Got a late leak. Been in the hospital almost 10 days now. My stomach is on a break. No food or liquids. Just strictly fluids & tpn (liquid calories) through a picc line. Gonna re-test to see if the leak is closed in another 6 days. Just re-tested yesterday and got the bad news that the leak is still there. It's smaller but still there. Been a long haul. I'm almost a month post-surgery.

Omg how did u get it or wat caused u to get the leak how unfortunate n im jus a weak behind you thats my bigets fear geting a leak but wat do ur docs say everything will be fine wat r ur risks.....

i realy hope with all my heart u get better soon n no more problems

Just unfortunate luck that I got a late leak. It sucks most being in the hospital and not knowing how long it will take to heal. I'm out of the woods for any real serious issues, as long as I keep following doctors orders. We'll just keep testing week by week until the leak is gone. Hoping it won't take too long. Remember me in your prayers.
