55lbs in 4 months is TERRIFIC. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Your brain must be behind in catching onto that!!!!! Remember your body has to catch up to the fast weight loss. If you feel you are honestly doing everything right (exercising, eating the things, using your sleeve, tracking your food, getting in your water), then just keep doing it! Consistency despite slowed or stalled weight loss is key! Don't beat yourself up over it. Don't obsess over the number on the scale. Trust your sleeve to do what is meant to. Take measurements, your body might be reconfiguring itself and while your weight isn't dropping, it's redistributing or the gym is creating some new muscle. There are a lot of things that could be going on. It would probably be helpful to have more information to maybe pinpoint some new options to try!

I had surgery March 19th & I am down 56 lbs. yes I want to lose more, but if we lost it any faster it wouldn't be good on our bodies. Keep up the good work!

I had my sleeve surgery 5 month ago as well and I've lost 48 lbs. I went 2 weeks with no weight loss back in June. I was freaking out at the thought of having plateaued so soon. But, i kept doing the right things. Soon after the weight loss resumed. My weight loss has been gradual. Maybe more so than most. Everyones body is different. As long as i keep losing I will forever be grateful for this procedure. Im sure that you will start losing again. Give yourself some time. Gradual weightloss does have some advantages. I've been able to maintain much more of my skins elasticity and I'm in my mid-forties.

Sometimes you can break a stall by having a higher calorie day or treat to "trick" the body. The next few days, weight starts coming off again.

I agree with Dez with have a trick the body day. Also check and really count your Protein just when you think you are getting enough you just might not be. I was at a stall for a very long time and had to go on what I call a protein binge and eat nothing but protein all day for a few days kicked in and I dropped 8lbs that week.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
