Question For Kaiser Sleeved Patients

How long after you saw the surgeon did you get your surgery date?

I had the first appointment with mine on July 16th. then he gave me another month to lose 10 lbs. and finish all of my testing. Today I had a phone appoint. with the nurse practitioner and he told me maybe another month after I see the surgeon. That means 2 looooong months of waiting. It's killing me because I have to plan my classes ahead of time and it's slowing me down. Thanks.

I saw my doctor on May 9th and had surgery June 4th. It was all about the open surgery dates. He had that date and then the end of June open. I counldn't wait any longer.

Oh okay. I thought it was protocol to wait that long. I was getting frustrated, well just a little. I hope mine is sooner than later.

Thanks.

My kaiser is really strict. There is a 12 month waiting list to get into the " program" then 4 months of classes in behavioral health- adresses emotional eating, nutrition and exercise. I started the program in may and will prob be sleeved oct/ nov. I have 2 more classes to go and I'm soooo ready. This is taking forever. I haven't heard of anyone else having to wait this long. Hope in the long run it will be helpful!

WOW!! That is a very long time. I am glad you are going thru the process now. What Kaiser are you going to?

Had my classes from Feb. 28th to May 15th, met with surgeon May 30th. First surgery date was June 26th but hadnt lost the 30lbs surgeon wanted so was changed to July 5th. My surgeons office has a 3 week minimum wait for surgery to lose required weight asked of the surgeons.
