Hey fellow MA bandsters,

SherryW and I are interested in starting a thread for all our MA bandsters so we can get to know our neighbors! We hope you join in!

I'll start.....

My name is Chris, I am 32, have been overweight since I was 5 years old, although I am at an all-time high right now. My band date is October 2nd, and I cannot wait!! I am single and dating, I work in insurance, and I have a great and supportive family & group of friends - including SherryW and her DH. lol. Oh yeah, my mother is also getting banded, and she is having surgery one week before me.

I'd love to meet my other MA bandsters and hear about your progress!

You will love the care and attention at Lahey. I hope you go to the support meeting in December. It's the 30th and I will be there. They are a great bunch.

I just had my third fill. I hope I get a bit more restriction.

I know I want to go so badly but I work nights! My schedule will be changing soon so hopeflly I can make it to the one in January! :laugh:

I'm not quite where I hoped to be...but I think I may have relied a little too much on hope and not enough on wanting and doing. I will lose the last 40 this year, but I'm happy with how far I've come. Good luck with all you have going on!

You're welcome. I think many of us have DREAMS of where we will be when we hit the 1 year mark but......when it comes down to it at least we took the steps to help ourselves and we need to remember that. It took us a long time to put it all on so it takes longer to come off. I really think we all forget that because it comes off easy at first for most. Me...I never dreamed I'd be in this predicament right now nor did I EVER think I'd put 30 back on after working so hard to take it off UGH. I'll get there though...after this revision. It's nice to have a fresh start and I plan on doing better for myself this time around Including getting my gym downstairs all set up and ready after I heal up from the surgery :biggrin:

I'm trying to get someone to cover for me so I can be there on the 27th of January!

Breanne, good luck to you! I have just started the process myself. I'll be going over to Beth Israel and I think I'm going to choose Dr. Jones, based on the experiences I've read from all the Massachusetts bandsters :thumbup:. I have my first appointment on January 12th with the nurse. Are you nervous? I am! But excited, too. I'd love to hear about your progress and have someone to share with. Take care!

wooohoooo! I will be at the meeting in January @ Lahey!

Thanks music....just got home today from Thur surgery. They kept me an extra night because of the snow. Everything went really well and i do have new band in place. They said when they went in the band had slipped more than they thought. When they first went in it didn't look bad until they looked around then they could see it in the back. My stomach had prolaspsed up through the band and the band was slipped. My stomach looked fine though so they put a new one in, in a higher position. I'm so thankful for that! I'm pooped though so I need to go rest but, thank you everyone for your healing thoughts. I know they helped!

Hi All :tongue_smilie: I'm on my 10th day banded. Anyone in the Easton area?

I'm nervous and excited. Really happy I have the band and I'm feeling better and never want surgery again if I can avoid it!
