Hot Dogs & Sausages

Since we are SMACK DAB in the middle of summer- has anyone tried a hot dog or sausage that was (relatively) good nutritional content and that didnt gross you out?

I go to lots of BBQ's and always bring a package of wieners or sausages (running gag) and kinda need to find one that I can enjoy.

I have found the only hot dog I can eat w/o being queesy is a Hebrew National. I also do fine with the chicken sausages you get at Costco/Whole Foods (but they are gross).

Looking for a bit of variety. What ones can you recommend?

  • Good LORD! Never get a hot dog from 7-11. My husband was desperate. There were 3 hot dogs on the grill and he got one of them. He went in two days later and there were still two hot dogs on that gril

  • Dorrie how long since you have been sleeved?

I ate a Nathan's dog july 4th and it was ok. It agreed with me and I could only eat less that half the dog! That was only 98 calories. Yayyyyy! I find that I really am not crazy about bread!

I LOVE Costco's Amylu Apple & Gouda Chicken Sausage.

110 Cal, 5GM fat, 2GM sat fat, 45Mg cholesterol, 450Mg sodium, 3GM carbs, 1GM fiber, 1GM sugar, 13GM protein.

:)

I don't know if it is a sleever thing or what, but I had a hot dog over the weekend and have not stopped tootings since! I think I could have filled up a hot air balloon in the past 3 days! And it was a really high quality organic pure beef frank with mustard, no buns.

Seven most out. Still can't do dohs

Have you tried any of the turkey sausage links? I know wal-mart carries them in different flavors and they have lower fat than beef or pork.

I'm only 9 days post-op and was sad that I couldn't have a Hebrew national grilled hot dog w/saur kraute & spicy mustard for 4th of July. lol looking forward to when I can :)

The best tasting turkey sausage links ar Jimmy Dean in the red box. Target has them.
