  1. I face a friend who had surgery a week ago yesterday. Well she was eating marshmellows and went to a tasting party. I did say to her, you should have done that, you're just beginning this journey, its a mind set as well as physical. Her response was I don't see the bug deal, if I hold my food in my mouth for 10-15 min. I was in Away! You told me she was going to golden coral this weekend for a family gathering. I don't think she's on a good start, but she gets upset if I say anything, but the reason why is that I think of my co-worker who had a repeat gastric surgery 10 years post gastric bypass, she wasn't lucky, she was just placed in a nursing home, they can't control the leaks, which caused liver failure, she's blind and her mind is gone. Shes only 36 and has been on life support several times, this has been her status since Nov. 2011, the time of her second surgery. She needs a liver transplant but she's too weak to sick to get it, she probly wouldn't survive surgery, per her husband. They have two kids. So lets all put our best foot forward fir success and nit decrease! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using VST
  2. Sleeved 12/12/11, start weight was 260, down to 178. My favorite side effect post gs is "No insulin pump". Weight loss slowed down, but I will still get to my goal weight of 140. Oresurfery I never had a goal weight, I just wanted to be insulin free and have my sugars regulated, but now I've set a goal weight. Loving my new healthy life style. 11. My hormones got screwed right after surgery, had two periods two weeks apart. PMS is a little more intense and I do crave chocolate during that time, so i do eat bite size chocolate or snack size M&Ms. I buy them at a gas station, so I wont have them calling my name in the house. 14. This am I ate a little oatmeal and 2 Bacon. I've eaten it before, no issues. But this am, within 15 minutes. I was nauseated, sweating, dizzy, felt faint, heart palpitations, vomiting and diarrhea and I can't forget the painful (OMG!). This went on for over four hours, I left work and have been in bed since. Feeling better, but just a little weak. My Dr advised to keep hydrated, then my blood sugars spiked, so I had to inject insulin and I've been insulin free for 8 months. So I learned today that gastric sleeve patients can get dumping. Again feeling better, but my mid section is so sore right now, I don't want to see anything that looks like food. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using VST

  18. I purchased mind @ CVS for $30
  19. I had a pain pump, they took it away 3rd day. I would advise to get a abdominal surgical band ($30). It really helped Mr heel, 2 of my friends didn't get one and it took them about three weeks to stop bring so sore. I was at target shopping by week 2. You wear it 24/7 for 30 days, only take it off for showers. I had complications next day post open, but it was diabetes related, stayed a week. But everything worked out great after that. You'll be fine, it gets better
  20. 7 months post open. Came off the insulin pump 4 days post op. Dr. Appt on last Fri w/ labs. Dr. Called all numbers looked great, my new A1C was 5.0 haven't seen anything under 8 in 7 years. So happy about my Choice, 90 lbs down. Its life altering. Vitamin d low, lve always had that issue. Just happy right now, so many asks how skinny do I want to be, I say its not an image thing for, I just wanted to be more healthier, for the first time in 12 yes, I am not taking 9 different pills and hooked up to an insulin pump and sensor, but to keep me on track I keep them in plain view as a motivator. My journey is not always easy, that's reality. But I am enjoying the trip and learning something new all the time. Pre open was 260, now 170. Thanks for support from all
