Just can't figure out what to order! Their are so many different Multis out there and I just can't figure out which one to order! This is just insane!

I didn't order anything. I just bought regular (chewables, etc.) from my local CVS. I found pretty much everything I needed with no problem.

I was just about to type a post pretty similar to yours about the Vitamins. I feel the same way!! I know at first we need to have chewable but then we can go to pills or capsules ?

What multi Vitamin do you all recommend? Can we do the Gummy chews right after surgery??

Thanks,

Amy

I found these http://www.bariatricchoice.com/bariatric-lifestyle-bariatric-multivitamins.html which the reviews on the site really recommend but I know I would have to add Vitamin D (unless their would be enough in the calcium citrate supplement) bc that's not enough, of course Calcium citrate, and Iron taken separately and a B-12 that dissolves under the tongue.

I took some photos from the booklet my clinic gave me. Hope it works.

The 'easiest' Multivitamin is opurity bypass-optimized multi-chewable. You only take one a day. About $30 for 3/month supply. I didn't love the taste but if I must, I must. Gonna try Celebrate tomorrow but that's 2x a day. Bariatric Advantage requires you to add B12 and Iron. Yes flintstones is on there but they dont recommend it. They just said its better than nothing

For Calcium, Opurity is 4x a day, Celebrate and Bariatric Advantage only 3. The least was Bariatric Advantage Calcium Crystals Drink Mix 2x a day but with so many drinks and mixes I think I prefer a chewable lol

Feel free to message if that was confusing!

Opurity is www.unjury.com

Celebrate is www.celebratevitamins.com

BA is www.bariatricadvantage.com

Just gonna edit my post.

I was given a few Vitamin samples by my doctor so i decided to be a guinea pig if anyone is interested in opurity, Bariatric Advantage or Celebrate. These were recommended because they are specifically for WLS.

Multivitamin:

Opurity BYPASS-Optimized Multi (Orange Berry): This was a HUGE tablet which is no surprise as it's 1x a day and includes all the B12 and Iron you need. I made the mistake of popping it all into my mouth. It was chalky and powdery and had a slight tartness which I did not enjoy. I don't think I can handle these and I'm dissapointed because it's price and 1x a day attribute was really appealing.

Celebrate Multi Complete chewable (Orange and Forrest Berry): 2x a day and therefore smaller than Opurity. I liked the Orange flavor much better though the berry wasn't bad. It was a little tart (which I liked here) and close to a candy like a sweet tart. The Orange was harder though and less chalky and powderty. Closer to a Flintstones. My favorite of all the Vitamins actually.

Bariatric Advantage Complete Multi Formula (Orange): It was ok.. Still too powdery and chalky to my tastes. Not interested in this brand at all as it doesn't have b12 or Iron and it's still 2x a day.

calcium citrate (all of these have Vitamin D included):

Opurity (Orange): It tasted similar to BA Multivitamin to me. Medium chalky/powder. It was better than their multivitamin but it's 4x a day.

Celebrate (Cherry Tart and Berries & Cream): The better of the calciums. The Cherry had a nice tartness and was the most candy-like. It was still medium chalky/powder but the taste made up for it. Berries & Cream was the softest of all chewables. It broke apart and melted really quickly. It was the most powdery but since it dissolved the fastest I actually prefer it. 3x/day

BA (chocolate, Wild Cherry and Cinnamon): My least favorite of all the chewables. These were all horrible. The chocolate was the worst, it felt like putting dry chocolate milk powder in my mouth. Wild Cherry was hard but powdery and slightly tart. Similar to Opurity to me. Cinnamon tastes EXACTLY like a Big Red but in powder form. Almost leaves your mouth refreshed but it's not for me.

To be honest I'm not won over by anything though Celebrate brand was better by far for me. I think I'm just going to try Centrum Complete and add sublingual B12 and Biotin. I thought I was going to take separate Biotin anyway because I don't want hair loss. I'm not sure about the Calcium yet, I'm going to ask my doctor for other options.

I also noticed a lot of people taking the gummy vitamins and they are really tempting however my doctor says those are dangerous because they can cause a blockage. The percentage of values seems pretty random too with some at 50% and some at 200%. There is no iron in them or enough B12.

I could never stomach the chewable so my surgeon moved me to capsules at 7 weeks post op. I use Celebrate Multi, Calcium Plus, Iron with Vit C and B-12 (sublingual). My surgeon says these are the better quality Vitamins for bariatric patients then what you can get in store especially the first year post op. I know I could get some that are less expensive at GNC but I'm willing to hold off until after my 12 month labs. Celebrate even has a flavored mix that you put into Water that includes the Multi and Calcium for those that are intrested.

It's funny you mention the Daily Values being all random bc I noticed the exact same thing when I was looking at all of those online on a website that sold them all.

I'm thinking I'll just find a good multi, and get an iron, calcium citrate, and also a b12(sublingual). I'm def gonna take the biotin as well, I am worried about the hair! I have thick hair and have always complained about it being thick and got but now that it's possible it may fall out I want to keep it lol

Thanks for the post!

I bought liquid ones before my surgery that tasted perfectly fine. Post-op I couldnt taken them cos they gave me horrible indigestion. I switched to a chewable multi from Trader Joe's and I use B12 with folic acid liquid under the tongue from Vitamin Shoppe, raspberry flavour is actually okay. I got chewable calcium citrate at Vitamin shoppe that's okay too but I can start them until next week (2 weeks post-op)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
