I was sleeved June 18th by Dr. Kim in Dallas, TX. I am fixing to start my stage two phase which is the Full Liquid Protein, which is two weeks. The book says that I need to purchase Fat Free Cream Soups ( American Heart Association green label with heart ). I bought a few ( Tomato, cream of chicken, and cheddar cheese ). All of them are the heart healthy ones with the logo but we couldn't find the fat free ones. These have 0g trans fat per serving and between 1.5-2.5g of total fat. Are these okay? What did y'all use? Help!

They will work- just keep em thinned with Water or FF milk. Also try powered Bear Creek soups- some of them are very low cal/fat and are delish

Those Soups should be just fine. They aren't high in fat.

Most of the people i know used those soups in cartons. I know

there is a squash one.

I was told no to Tomato Soup but if your doctor says it's okay then it should be fine. I was told it was too acidic at first. I didn't go the complete fat free route, and you eat so little of them anyhow. At almost 3 weeks out I eat about 8 teaspoons of Soups and that's about it.

Here's a teaspoon to cup converter http://www.asknumber...ToTeaspoon.aspx

edited to say I use skim milk with the cream soups and I sometimes I powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury 'unflavored' Protein powder to it or add a teaspoon of Carnation Dried Skim Milk powder to get a little extra Protein.< /p>

I was sleeved June 7th by Dr. Kim. These Soups are all fine and got me thru the phase 2 as well. I'm beginning to transition to phase 3 and SO ready for different tastes and textures!

Make sure you buy a mesh strainer for your soups. Too thick and you will have a hard time with it. I also liked to trick up the cream of chicken Soup with garlic powder and other seasoning. My all time favorite go to if you're close to a Central Market is to go drain some broth from their chicken noodles soup. You get all the flavor of the soup without all the 'lumps, bumps, and clumps' we're told to avoid.

Good luck to you!! You're doing just fine! :)

I think those are fine. You may need to dilute more than the can says to make it easier to eat. That will cut the fat even more. I used HEB mootopia milk fat free to up the Protein too.

Good to know you are using the HEB Mootopia fat free. I will try it when I get to this stage. I get sleeved on July 9th.

I haven't found any FF Soups but I did find 98% FF which is what my NUT recommended (have to strain those of course). I was told to avoid the Tomato (acidic) and anything with broccoli in it (we don't need any more gas!)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
