Trying Not To Worry (Small Complication)

Recommended Posts

I had my band-to-sleeve surgery on june 16 with dr Ponce de leon. He had to do a repair due to a malfunction i had from my band before performing my sleeve. I went for my leak test today (the one that you drink contrast in front of the xray). Basically where my band was is SUPER swollen, so it took FOREVER for the contrast to move down into the sleeve. So today i finally get to eat ice chips (yay!) And they have upped my anti-inflammatory to bring down the swelling. I will be having another contrast with xray tomorrow, im praying its better!! If its not, i might have to get another surgery, or another upper-endoscopy at the minimum! Im feeling really scared and lonely. I came by mysef and im so homesick! Not to mention i tremble at the thought of having to drink that yucky stuff again, :(

Thank you all for all of your prayers and uplifting words!! I didn't have to do another swallow since I could eat the ice just fine! Plus all of the mess he upped helped too! I did stay an extra night at the hospital for close watch, but now I am at the beautiful Lucerne hotel! :) I'm working on getting all of my liquids in and my coordinator trish just had somebody come to my room and give me a LOVELY pedicure!! Not to mention earlier she took me to get my hair done!! Dr Ponce and trish are great! As well as all of the team at INT hospital! I'm do glad feeling better! :)

How are you doing this evening? I hope you are feeling better.

Thanks for checking in on me. Unfortunately, I'm sitting in the emergency room :-(. Over the course of the day traveling home, I have developed a fever, achiness, and a couple of my incision are oozing (sorry for tmi). I'm so scared right now. I just want to be home healthy with my babies!! Please pray for me that this isn't too serious!

~UPDATE~

After sticking 10+ times to get an I.V., the doctor had to come in with ultrasound to get a vein in my upper arm (it hurts more there too! But I'm just glad they got it in!). Now I'm drinking this HUGE cup of stuff for a CT scan. I don't blame dr.ponce, I know this was a risk, but I'm starting to feel regret. I just wanted to live a longer, healthier life for my kids. My son is autistic, and he is going to need his mommy in the long wrong. Please pray for me!!

~NEW UPDATE~

I'm so sorry to keep going on and on, but I'm by myself and I'm so scared! I was just informed that the I.V. They put on my upper-arm was "infiltrated"... Which means I have to get another one! I ant take much more! I just want to be home :-( I have bad veins and bruises all over both arms. They just did two more attempts on my other upper-arm. If this last one doesn't work they will have to do a central line or go into my jugular :**-(

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
