Hi everybody! Just wanted to give an update! (Sorry it took so long, i was SOOO out of it yesterday!) Anywho, i had my surgery around 11 am yesterday. Im pretty sore, especially getting in and out of the bed! But i think a good portion of my pain is gas pain (abdomen to shoulders). I do have a drain that is gross and keeps filling, im not sure if it is causing pain or not though. I am using my heating pad and it seems to help. I havent had ANY ice, Water or anything yet! My mouthis SO dry! Im not even allowed to chew gum! Hopefully in a few hours i can have some ice chips! I havent really had any nausea, some other ladies have though. I hop e i dont get nauseous either :-/ what else... trish is awesome (my coordinator)!! My fligh got delayed a few times on thursday so i didnt get to INT until almost midnight! Buttrish was here to greet me with open arms and helped me settle in! I think i wasnt quite prepared for all of the nurses that dont understand english, but google translator has helped! Its kind of funny because i wasnt going to know for sure if i was going to be able to have the sleeve done until after surgery to see what was going on with my band. So because of the language barriers and not having access to my personal belongings in the recovery area, i didnt really know if i got sleeved or not! But i did!

no ice chips :(

hi there

Welcome home from Mexico, and back to the Sleeve Board - we missed you :)

i also wasn't allowed any ice chips. EGADS

After i "begged" they finally gave me those swabs with the Water on them that i could rub in my mouth. That was such a treat, I thought I was in heaven ;)

Great to hear that your co-ordinator Trish was so nice and helpful too. That really is great to have that extra support, especially in a foreign country.

Glad things are going so well

continued success

kathy

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
