Dear Stallers And Not Losing Weighters

Recommended Posts

Dear people who are in a stall or not losing weight,

Stop weighing yourself everyday. Just my advice. If you are eating right and exercising you will lose the weight unless there is a medical problem... which is not usually the case. Your body is not a machine. It takes time. Maybe try weighing in once a week or better yet every 2 weeks. I got rid of my scale altogether and I only weigh myself when I go to visit my mother which is within the time frame I just gave you. I don't think I have had any stalls... but I wouldn't know because I focus on my well-being and NSV's, not pounds on a daily basis. Now if 1 or 2 months goes by and no weight loss and you are doing everything right- then worry. But besides that don't stress so much.

I am only posting this because I feel sorry for those of you who are so stressed out. I am about happiness and optimism and I thought I'd spread it a little. :-) Have a good and healthy day!

Sincerely,

Shadayo

Shadayo, you are absolutely right! Everyone does stall and the scale will lie to you. Sit back and enjoy the ride, learn new eating habits and exercise. Make sure that you get in all your fluids on a daily basis. You guys are not done losing weight yet! ;)

Thank you for these great words of wisdom Shadayo! I have been one of those people who have posted on the forums stressing out about my stalls. My husband did me a favor and took the batteries out of my scale. He lets me weigh once a week. I was driving myself crazy if I didnt see the numbers going down. I became quite obsessed with the darn scale. I now focus on all the wonderful things I can do being 130 lbs lighter and know that I am not quite done losing weight. NSV's are MUCH more rewarding than any number the scale can say.

So good to hear that I am not alone! I hit a wall at 60 pounds and even went up a few on vacation. But I'm back on track and hopefully will see it start move again.

Just as a side note... there is no expiry date to the sleeve either... so that means, if like me with no weight loss since Oct last year, there is still hope! I am two years out next month and not at goal. Frustrating doesn't even come near it!

But, I am ticking the boxes and doing the right things but my body is absolutely refusing to play ball... but with my sleeve, I am hoping that eventually I will get rid if the last bit of me that I don't want... I suppose what I am saying is that there is always hope with the sleeve as it is a great tool and has gotten me fit and healthy. I just want to sprinkle the fairy dust on me now and get me finished!!

I wanted to add, I just went through that 3 week stall. I expected it from reading this site. I did measurements instead. I stayed at the same weight for two weeks. However, I dropped a combined 3 1/2 inches inthat time. All of a sudden this past week, no joke, I have dropped 8 pounds. So just don't keep looking at the scale. It will happen. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
