My docs orders were to stay on a liquid diet for 3 weeks which included some Protein Drinks. Then it's a pureed stage for 3 weeks, Then mushy stage and finally regular food. The time went by pretty fast. I did have some yogurt in my 3rd week. This will pass and you will be very happy with the weight your dropping. Hang in there is gets a lot better really soon. I promise. :)

It may suck jffjacobs, but it will suck much more if you do something like put food in your stomach and cause a leak, which would lead to another hospital stay. Your stomachs insides and outsides are inflamed and swollen. Your stomach needs a good month to heal. I'm 11 days out and I get in about 50 ounces of fluids a day and only 22 ounces of Protein, if I'm lucky. The only thing that really does drive me nuts drinking is Peppermint tea with truvia in it. 4 ounces of Protein shake makes me feel like I ate a 25 ounce porterhouse with 2 pounds of french fries, that kinda omg full feeling.

Be grateful that you aren't suffering as bad as some others are with pain, take one day at a time and kind of suck it up because before too long, you will be able to go on to mushy food and your weight will be dropping and you will be looking and feeling great in no time.

Good luck to you.

I'm right there with you. So over Protein shakes and broth. Hang in there. I have had some sugar free pudding to break it up without problems. You could probably also try some low fat cream of mushroom or chicken. Those went down without any problems. Could only eat about a third of a can before I felt ready to burst. Call your doctor and see if there's anything else you might try. Good luck

I'm 9 days post op and I love this sleeve. I are a sugar free popscicle and a few sips of apple juice and I felt like i'd eaten Thanksgiving dinner. It's a great tool. Enjoy your journey, you'll be able to eat a variety of foods in no time. I lost 11 lbs in a week. I'm encouraged.

I am right there with ya! Haven't had "real" food in 6 days and counting.... it's seriously maddening.....I don't know how in the hell I can keep this up for 20 more days...... It took me 5.5 hours to get down 20 oz of a Protein Drink yesterday. My mind (and I think my stomach) is telling me I am so hungry! Guess I'll go suck on another Popsicle.... ugh

Hang in there Sleevers!

I was once there, it sucks, but it's so worth it.

Soon you will be able to eat little birdy meals too

If I dont see another cup of broth for the rest of my life, that suits me fine!! LOL

I'm almost 2 months out and feel awesome.

Everyday gets better and better!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
