Zeta you don't even remember the pain afterwards and every time you look at your precious baby you'll go through it 10x over.

For those with relaxers. Does anyone have a plan for hair loss? I started taking Biotin today but I need a plan. Does anyone have any tips? Weaves' date=' wigs, pieces. Tell me what you did or recommend?[/quote']

I have a relaxer. I waited 6 weeks after anesthesia for a retouch. I get a conditioner. Usually set every two weeks. My hair is longer and healthier than ever. I bought 3 wigs as a precaution. Praying there is no breakage concerned about swimming and chlorine

I am four months out and I swim laps a couple times a week. I havnt had any Hair loss yet. I have locs so I'm not sure how much I will notice. The nurse told me to tell the surgeon I was worried about nausea and they put something in my IV. For the people on liquids I loved my sugar free Popsicle it gave me a chance to chew. I ate them so much that I can't stand the thought of them now.

I'm 3 months out not sure when hair starts to fall out. I have really thick hair and wear it in locks I wonder if I will notice it. I would recommend maybe doing a sew in. That way your hair can be free from chemicals for awhile. Best of both worlds

I was about 3 months out before my hair started thinning . I have long thick Locs so only I could tell no one else noticed. But I could feel the difference. Hair loss is not avoidable but it's short term and ur hair will grow back! Thank God the fat won't! Really no chemicals !!! Keep it as natural as possible

I'll be 4 months out on the 22nd of September. I haven't had any Hair loss yet. I just got a relaxer on 8/31 after about 3 months without one. According to my beautician, I have a healthy head of hair so far. I just pray that I keep it.

Thanks, then braids are out definitely. A sew in weave usually entails braiding the hair under. Do you think this will cause tension? This sound like my option or a hair cut. What did you do?

I use to wear sew-ins. Make sure the stylist does not use synthetic hair to braid the tracks.

It's important to get adequate Protein everyday. Once you are post-op get your Protein shakes. If you can't stomach the shakes , I can't, then try juice smoothies with Protein powder added.

Protein is the only way to curb hair loss...good luck with your surgery.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
