11 Lbs In 12 Days...is That Enough?

Recommended Posts

My starring weight day of surgery was 204.5, I am following the diet, drinking my fluids, my Proteins and walking everyday...

I thought the first month was when you experience the fastest weight loss...

Don't get me wrong I'm still happy to be in Onederland but I'm a bit concerned about how slow it is going.

Anyone with similar starting weight out there? How is is going for you?

Sounds like amazing weight loss to me. Almost a pound a day is amazing. Without the sleeve most Dr's and diet plans would tell you to shoot for 1 - 2 lbs a week. Everyone will lose at different rates but it seems you are doing fine.

204.5 is actually pretty low on the grant totem of weight loss - you won't lose it as fast as some of the heavier folks. This isn't a bad thing - too much at the lower weights can actually be dangerous. To me' date=' it sounds like you're on track.[/quote']

Thanks Benjammim...

I've struggled all of my life with my weight, I have PCOS, Type 2 Diabetis and sleep Apnea. I am happy to be moving towards a healthier life.

Gene I completely agree, but I'm on fluids and Protein shakes only...I'm afraid wit will slow down a lot more once I'm in solids

Hi Izzy,

I have not been sleeved yet, but if you do not mind, I will follow your progress. My starting weight is within a few pounds of yours, and I also have PCOS and Type 2. I will be sleeved in July.

Sounds good to me. I have had to learn not to compare myself to others!

Hi izzy,

You're doing great! The fastest weight loss you'll see will be in the first three weeks, at least that's what they say. But you'll continue to lose steadily. I started at 209 and my goal is 140. I'm losing at about the same rate as you...five days out and I've lost nine pounds. But we're still swollen and most likely retaining Water, so the scale is a bit high most likely.

I had the band for two years. And because our weight wasn't quite as high to begin with, we are prone to slower weight loss. But the most important thing is that it is safe and permanent! :). Just keep following doctor's orders and you'll be good. It's when we 'cheat' that we can fail!

Dang! Sounds great to me!!! WOO HOO!!

As was pointed out...you're a light weight, so it will be a smidge slower. :) But that's pretty fast by any standard.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
