If you don't want to be offended then DO NOT open this thread. You have been warned!

THIS POST IS NOT A SLAM ON ANY ONE MEMBER. IT IS A SLAM ON US ALL AS A WHOLE. SO BE FOREWARNED IF YOU OFFEND EASILY. STOP READING NOW!

OK YOU WERE WARNED.

I have been a member of LBT for almost 3 years now. I was asked to be a moderator about 6 months into my membership. Some of us (yes me included) had ups and downs with regards to behaving on this forum.

Here is my line of thinking after I learned the hard way how to deal with something I don't like being said. IGNORE it. You just feed into the drama if you respond to something you don't like. The TRUE friends you have will know better about your true character.

If someone came on here and said that I used my body to get money out of men and was a drug addict and had my kids taken away from me because of it. What do I care? How can that possible HURT me physically with my TRUE friends? And if the rest of the membership chooses to believe those comments then no matter how much I protest they will think I it is true. SO why expend all your energy when that is what the other poster wants? Just to keep the drama flowing. Stop feeding into it.

I know it is hard to not do that but come on people. This is grade school or high school either. Who cares what people say? Who cares what doctor is the best or worst? WHO CARES?

I, as a moderator and a member, am tired of the bickering and fighting and rehashing of old topics. Why do you insist on opening old wounds that have healed and left NO scars? What purpose does it serve? Let them alone. Leave them alone.

Shit happened on LBT it will happen again, after all we are women, We eat our young. LOL!! Laugh here please. LOL!!

If what I have said makes Alex remove me as a moderator then so be it. It is a hard job and it really depresses me when I see people I consider battle sisters and brothers in this war on obesity using that energy wastefully. Direct that anger or whatever it is on tackling and beating that obesity horse. That I can sink my teeth into. See it all goes back to food. LOL!! Laugh here too! LOL!!

Get a life! Stop posting on threads if the subject doesn't speak to you. And ignore the people tha slam you.

I will say however, that inflammatory comments ARE NOT ACCEPTIBLE! You tread a fine line when you make those kinds of statements or assumptions. Just think before you speak people. Ask yourself would you say this to your Lord, Buddha, Goddess, Muhammad, whatever you worship. The devil or dark forces seems to have a hold of some of us and using us for no good. Take back those reins and smack him off the horse.

OK I am done. I might be done literally as a moderator too. IF so then this will be my parting post.

I was previously a moderator at another forum and it is one of the most thankless (non-paying) jobs one could imagine. About the only thing worse is a Union shop Steward.

Maybe one day, the moderators will, with the permission of the person who runs this site, just shut the whole thing down for a while. When the children can't play with their toys, they tend to appreciate them more.

I hope not because this site is important for people who have lapbands.

Betty unfortunately it appears that some members are NOT listening and taking the subtle hint. SIGH!!

The moderators don't have the power, TOM, but the owner does and he's done precisely that in the past. Do we learn? Evidently not. :) It could easily happen again.

It must be a full moon, somewhere.

Personally I truly appreciate all that the mods do do and how they've handled themselves. I've chatted with several and have really gotten to know one in particular and have valued their experience and patience. I think it's great that Alex has made it possible for us to learn from them and each other. I have no idea what the heck has been going on with postings, flaming, name calling whatever has happened to get everyone so bothered and for a moderator to have to remind people that this website is a GIFT! I come to LBT everyday, sometimes several times. I help where I can, ask questions if I need help, read threads but, I choose what I want to take-in and choose what I want to ignore. If something seems off to me or I feel it's craziness then I don't give it anymore thought or my time. Move on and search some more is what I do. People come with different personalities. We'd be bored if we were all the same plus we'd never learn from each other. What do I learn if it's a post thats kinda off key to me? I learn how NOT to word something, how now to get involved with the jibber jabber and I also learn how much I value my true friends that have been there for me here at home. I've also learned how different docs do things, how to adjust my diet, helpful hints if you feel something isn't right, what to ask my PCP or surgeon and that PB doesn't mean peanut butter hee hee. Anyway....I thank the mods and Alex for welcoming here and allowing me to be a member. I will continue to be open minded, help those I can and continue to learn all I can about this great tool I chose to have put in place. I hope everyone can live and learn, take what you need, page away from what you don't. I wish you all well and may you all continue to shrink :)

Amen, amen, amen. I want this in cross-stitch. :)

And if I can amend my previous alter-ego, I want to be Jimmy Buffett. (He has the perfect life!!)

Perhaps Dawg could convey this to his wife. It seems to me you closed down a thread where it was said to 3 Loves "You have your head up DeLarla's ass"...........hmmmmmmmmmmm isn't that feeding into a major argument and causing trouble, or am I once again mistaken.

Dody because of your comments that are uncalled for and certainly to get a rise out of some I will NOW close and Lock this thread. This was and is the very behaviour I am speaking about. There was NO reason to bring up this comment on this thread. You already sent the Moderators a "reported post".

Further, you have no idea if or when other members have been reprimanded or not. You seem to want it done publicly so therefore you are reprimanded from bringing up OLD issues where there is no business being brought up.
