Anyone Considering Price Changes....

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I just wanted to relay some information I just got. Like many of the users here I am tight for money, and I am planning on getting my surgery in December of this year or January 2013. I had narrowed my choices down to Dr. Kelly and Dr. Garcia.

Now I have spoken with both coordinators, Omar with Dr. Kelly and Sandy from alighterme.com and I just wanted let everybody that is planning to have surgery in the future about what I have learned.

Sandy from alighterme.com told me that the price can, and probably will fluctuate with time, and the procedure is 5,000 as of now. HOWEVER, Omar told me that the price that was quoted for me, which is 5,500, will be honored, no matter when I get the surgery.

This was the deciding factor for me, since I have heard so many great things about both doctors. Even though I really like Dr. Kelly's personal approach, it really did come down to the money. So for anyone considering surgery with Dr. Kelly but not sure yet, I would suggest getting a price now and just having that stability, just in case!

Take care!

My coordinator told me she would honor any price from any other place (as long it was same doctor) so I was thinking about having the plication, but saw so many people against it, saying to just get VSG, so when I thought plication I found the coordinator I wanted but found the price about $500 cheaper somewhere else and she made a call to the hospital and they said they would honor it. So I looked for a cheaper price on my VSG but could not find anything better, but I am happy with with my price and Dr. now the plane ticket.... geesh

If you set a date I am sure that Dr.Garcia will honor the price quoted at the time you scheduled. You are not required to put a deposit down to schedule just pay it before the surgery. I had my surgery on May 7th with Dr. Garcia and could not be happier with my results. Good luck with your decision both are good doctors. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
