I feel like I'm constantly eating trying to get my calories and Protein in, and yet I'm consistently below my calorie goal every day. Some days I still don't hit my Protein goal, although it has gotten easier to get it in, its kind of a pain.

I'm dreading the day my Dr tells me to up my calories

Anybody else feel this way?

I hear you! More than once the NUTs have told me to try to increase my calories. They have me eating 3 meals plus 2 Snacks a day, which really does feel like I'm eating all day! Maintenance is even harder - you gotta eat MORE food to stop losing weight! LOL! (Although, it isn't a bad problem to have compared to where I was before sleeve surgery!)

I'd worry less about the Protein totals and focus more on getting that Protein in. Are you doing a shake a day to supplement? To this day, I still have protein hot chocolate every day just to make sure I keep my protein numbers up.

Yep! Yep! Yep! My nutritionist told me to make sure I at least all my Protein even if I have to do it over a couple of hours but yet, the Dr. had said take 30-45 minutes to eat your meals and what you don't finish, throw out and supplement at the end of the day with a Protein Shake if you don't make your requirements but don't use the Protein Shakes as Meal Replacements. So I start and eat what I can for probably 20-25 minutes because by that 30-45....the food is cold and sometimes it's already unappealing even when I have made something scrumptious like grilled salmon on the barbie, along with grilled veggies and maybe a little bit of a potato or rice. Not too much on the starches though. It's like I will eat the fish and most of the vegetables on a good day and sneak in (lol) 2-3 small bites of rice. On a bad day and I have cooked that, the SO and kids eat but I just try and keep liquids down and bide my time hoping I can eat later. Some days though I eat and I feel it wasn't enough or I've eaten to my capacity and my stomach knows but my brain is trying to say more! more! Hang in there! It's get easier but it's not easy. It's going to be a bit of a roller coaster ride and from reading these posts and on other sites, we are all on a learning curve because some people are so misinformed and they print info from what they think they heard from their Dr.'s mouth and it's not always correct for everyone on the sites. I am 9 months post-op and they want me to eat all 1200 calories now. It's just not feasible at this point in the game. I am trying though!!!!

Just keep plugging away and do the best you can and not give up. I felt the same way and over time it gets easier and foods taste better. I agree that the priority has to be getting your Protein in, so start all meals when possible with protein. You can only do what you can do so just remember it will get better and easier over time.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
