How Long After Your First Visit Did You Get Your Surgery?

Hello everyone!!!

I am a newbie, I have been thinking of getting this surgery for about 7 months, been doing my research and going over my options and I have decided that the sleeve is for me:) I am so ready for this life changing journey! I was wondering, especially for any self-payers how long did it take for you to get a sugery date after your first inital visit? Or seminar if you attended one?

  • I was self-pay. I had my initial visit with the surgeon in March and I will be sleeved on May 22nd. It was about a month until I could get in for my psych eval (who knew psychologists were so busy.

I must be one of the long waits then after reading this. My process took from October of 2011 to now. My surgery is scheduled for this coming Tuesday finally! I think I am glad it took so long, I quit smoking 5 months ago, gave up any alcohol over a month ago and also stopped caffiene 3 weeks ago. If I had to do that all at once I would have been a basket case! Especially the cigarettes and coffee! It also gave me time to really research it and make sure it was what I really wanted. I have had plenty of time to back out but I am going for it! No looking back :)

Well i can now say that it took me a month and half. I went in for my seminar on May 22 and surgery is July 3! :)

How much will surgery cost in us?

12,500. Dr. Mason Bryan/College Station Tx.

My Dr. Great Dr.!!!

I first spoke to my Dr. about it last July. There was paperwork and initial approval in August. Then waiting list, and I just about forgot about it. In March I finally got a letter telling me it was time for 8 weeks of classes. Psych evaluation, initial meeting with the weightloss clinic and I have a final psych evaluation next week. I should get my date right after that, and surgery in July. One year. I'm glad it has been so long, I'm feeling really ready for it, but it has taken time to get my head in the game.
