I'm trying very hard not to just NOT EAT!!!! OMG!!! I workout 3 times a week at the gym and I walk... With the amount of calories that I take it, one would think I would be losing 3-4 pounds per week.. WELL, I'm NOT!!!

I'm trying to be okay with this...because I'm definitely losing inches and sizes.... It's such a mental struggle though, when the scale isn't moving.. yet, the only things in my wardrobe that fit are my earrings!!!

I will keep working out, keep eating when I'm supposed to (eventhough I'm tempted often to skips meals in hopes that I can have a massive poundage drop!!).... I know that's unhealthy and unwise..

I feel great physically... I can stand and walk for hour... I can fit in plastic patio furniture and I don't wear the largest size in Ashley Stewart and Lane Bryant any more!!!

I just needed to share my frustrations.... Suggestions, advice, experiences welcomed!!!

Thanks...

No two people are the same so your body might work different...experiment with your sleeve And workouts...I personally am lucky because I have lost 76 lbs in 2 months without working out...I feel that if you work out your calorie intake an Protein intake must go up...since I don't work out I religiously follow my diet plan but if I work out I will have to eat more calories and carbs cause if you lack those your weight loss will stall if your body wants to hold on to more energy...so I suggest cooling it with the work outs or kicking up your calories and carbs...of course the good kind not breads and junk food

Wow, 52.5 pounds lost is fantastic!!! Don't give in, stay strong! It sounds like you have been doing everything right and it's showing in your clothes sizes. The scale will eventually catch up and once that happens and the numbers start falling, watch out. This is a crazy ride. I weighed this morning, (I only weigh once a week) and after not losing a single pound for the last 4-5 weeks, I dropped 2 pounds. Now I was still losing inches during this stall, but the numbers on the scale is what I keep looking for. Before giving in to temptation, tape a piece of clothing (from your heaviest weight/size) to the refrigerator/pantry door so if you are really tempted, you will have to go "thru" that clothing to get to the food. DON'T DO IT! Just hang in there. The numbers will eventually start showing what the tape measure already is!

I've been so bad... I'm not exercising like I should. I am more active overall than I was before surgery but my treadmill is collecting dust right now. I need someone to come and kick my flabby booty! I too notice that things are shifting around some and even though I'm not dropping as many pounds as I'd like, my clothes seem to be hanging a little more. I finally broke down and bought a couple pair of size 16W pants. I swear these are my last women's clothes though!

Stick to your plan and keep up the exercise. I really look up to you all who stick to your exercise! It'll come off sooner or later!

If you can use myfitnesspal.com and make sure you are actually taking enough for Protein and keeping your carbohydrates low enough. You may not be taking in enough food and your body is holding onto the calories.

There are times I quit losing weight (been following a diet for six months prior to my sleeve) and I stay the same even though I'm eating 800-1000 calories a day and the day I up my calories the next day I drop. I'm not saying go crazy with what you eat, just perhaps take a few days to get an accurate accounting of everything you are eating. Maybe your body is in starvation mode or maybe you are taking in more carbohydrates than you think you are.

I am getting sleeved June 4th and I'm on a 3-1/2 week stall right now after losing 60 lbs. on my own and I think my carb intake has been higher about 75gms, as I am preparing for my pre-op shakes next week.

Good Luck to you, but I think you are doing a great job. Congrats on your loss.

I use MFP, I track every morsel... I think that's part of my problem!! I get OCD about it... I'm pretty good about eating what I'm supposed to .. I think I need to increase my Protein.. I haven't change my caloric intake since I started working out more... I think I'll try that...

I'm definitely not complaining.. Lord knows I feel so much better... I just want to get to that 75-100 weight loss... LOL.. Shoot, 76 pounds in 2 months is AMAZING!

Thanks guys for the encouragement and suggestions... Gotta hit the gym after work!!!

@Favore - darlin you have been so positive for MANY folks on this site, now it is time to get some back! Ok to vent but, honestly you are doing well. You may be at a stall and all of a sudden you will break it. You know you are seeing changes in your body and you just need to keep the course!! You will do it, I know you will!

Keep getting your Water in, make sure you exercise, do not drop your calories (may need to increase depending on your intake), watch your carbs-they are sneaky buggers. You will have a drop and feel better. Maybe try to stay off scale for a week also roll eyes:), that one is tough for me....

Hugs,

Sandy

I agree with everyone... you look great and you've done so well... the only thing I can think of is to stop logging and stressing over what you are or are not eating... ok, don't shout at me yet, I haven't finished...lol

Say, for about a week, if you can... or at least a few days. Just give your mind a rest, and let your body do its thing?

Dunno, like I said it is just a suggestion. I have been in a stall since Oct and I stopped logging about a mth ago, I don't miss it and my scale is at the same place, so I know I am doing ok... but I kinda 'feel better' if that makes sense!

Good luck on whatever you do... but above all, remember you are feeling amazing, looking amazing and you are much healthier now than you were... keep up the good work!

I really feel for you, I too am not losing any poundage at the moment and have been this way for the last 5 weeks!!!!! I am losing inches for which I am grateful, but...I long to see that scale move. I know when I go back for my second dr's visit they are not going to be happy with me, but what can I do. I think we just have to hunker down and hang in there. Eventually it must happen, but why can't it happen now??????????

I've bee stalled at least 5 weeks. I've been banded about 8. That's not easy to swallow.

I know how frustrating it can be. As much as it sucks, I try not to let it bother me. I know it can't last. Numbers always win in the end. And I don't own a scale, so I can't really obsess over whether or not my weight has changed. (This is a prime example of why I don't own one.)

I spoke with my NUT today and she actually advised "more calories in the form of carbs." That wasn't what I expected to hear, and it will be hard, but we'll see. Stall breakers like fat fasts often work to break stalls. Have you tried anything like that?

You're also going to be adding muscle mass at the gym. Muscle weighs more than fat, so you can be losing fat while gaining weight.

Are you tracking your measurements at all? It seems like inches come off the quickest while weight is stalled. It's a weird sort of yin & yang thing, I guess. ;)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
