August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

Recommended Posts

I'm an august sleever! August 18th with Dr. Alvarez in piedro negres Mexico! Bought my plane ticket today and getting very excited! I'm 5'9" and weigh between 215-220lbs. I would be happy to lose 45lbs. Thrilled to lose 60-70lbs! No pre-op diet for me but I am trying NOT to have last supper syndrome this far out (making excuses to eat what I shouldn't because I know I won't be able to after surgery).

I'm an August Sleever!!! :) Scheduled for August 13th by Dr. McMahon in Seattle, WA.

I'm 27 years old and have 100-125 lbs to loose.

I'm beginning the anxious stage of pre-op, but I have a partner in crime. My husband just had the Roux-en-Y done by Dr. McMahon 3 weeks ago.

EEEKKKK!! Just looked at the calendar and it's only 26 days until the party gets started...and I'm going FIRST. wahhhh!!! ;(

I'm starting to get a few butterflies every time I think about it, but as I'm determined as ever. Heck, I found out yesterday that we got a contract on our house and we will close on Aug 9th. Perfect excuse to back out and reschedule, but I'm going for it! Looks like I will be busy packing before surgery, so maybe I won't have too much time to get anxious.

Let's do this!

I found a great app on Google Play called Body Monitor. It lets you track your height, weight, body fat and body measurements. It stores all the ones you mentioned, including extra ones for your legs and arms. I like it because as soon as you enter your measurements, it shows you how much you've lost. It has a calendar interface so you can scroll back and see where you started very easily. If you're comfortable with tech, you might want to check it out.

Hi all! I am the very last of the month I see! August 31 with Dr. Kelly in MX. Not a friendly office environment so time off work is difficult - I have to use the labor day holiday for one of my days. Sure hope I'm up to returning ASAP because I don't have a choice.

I feel so behind reading all of your posts' date=' I am truly not thinking about it nearly so much and had not planned to be ordering the Protein or packing until a week or so out! Or in my case ordering online as I sit in my bed post-op! :)

Not sure yet if my husband will be joining me, I waiver on wether or not I even want him to, just that I want him to want to!

I'm glad to meet you all![/quote']

I'm Dr Kelly 8/23. I will be going alone as well, and I'm ok with that! Having the Labor day holiday is why I picked my date too. 1 less vacation day!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
