August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

Recommended Posts

Chubrubgirl. -- where in Baltimore are you having Your surgery? Mine will be at GBMC. Hopefully in late July or early August.

I am at Franklin Square. I would have chosen GBMC if it were closer. That is where I had my children and love that hospital. How have you likes your experience there thus far? Fr Sq has been AMAZING.

If everything goes according to plan, I should be an August sleever! I finish my six month diet the end of June, but my company's schedule rules out July as an option. So unless I have a hiccup with insurance (and I doubt I will), I should have a date mid-August.

And Marley, welcome to the forums! When I first started considering WLS, I absolutely ruled out the sleeve since it's not reversible. But after doing a lot of research and talking with my surgeon, I think it's the best option for me. Since you have a medical background, you have a leg up on a lot of us here. Roam the threads and you'll pick up a lot of great information. Good luck!

Hi Ladies! I've just gotten Ins. approval and am now scheduled for Aug 13th. It's being done by Dr. Collier in Conroe, Tx (just north of Houston). I was excited but now that it's "real" I'm having a lot of anxiety and second guesses! Not worried that I won't be able to do the work, just worried something will go wrong with the surgery. Now after reading your posts I'm feeling better - glad you're all here!

GBMC is great. While Franklin square is closer to me, too my insurance BCBS Fep did not support it. Good luck on your surgery!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
