August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

Recommended Posts

Finally some August people ! I'm going to Dr.Almanza in Mexico, my surgery is on the 14th..I'm so excited it's all I think about...I am 303 last time I checked..and 5'9 and a size 22. I hope to get down to 150.. I have to do a 1 week liquid diet. I'm making changes to how I eat from now. So it's not so hard in the future. I read these forums far too much lol...and really am scared that I will have a stall like some people mention. I just plan to stick to the plan religiously and not cheat. I'm going to start waking and riding my bike.

YAYAYAYA!!! I am Aug 13 with Dr. Almanza, you are the closest person I have found to my surgery date and SAME doctor, I am sooo freaking excited to meet you!!! I leave on the 16th so I am sure I will see you there!

I have had an endoscopy before and you will not feel a thing and won't remember any of it. Yea, the cathedral is yuck and I hope it is not in long. You know my doc is not going to do an endo on me, hmmm, I need to ask him about that.

I'll see what I can do, Ill be in finals week and we are leaving for San Diego on the 10th so that we can take my son to the zoo (: And has anyone looked into or bought their tickets if flying out, I found 237$ on american airlines, that seems pretty awesome compared to the 470 plus I have seen anywhere else, has anyone ever flown american airlines and if so what'd you think, or has anyone found a better deal?

sab, im not sure where your flying into, or out of but I was searching expedia, travelocity and all of those, then the Philadelphia international airport (im flying my boyfriend in to myrtle beach, and my mom out) and I came acrossed kayak. It will give you all of the rates ...it'll bring up like 20 pop ups but it shows which is the cheapest. Thats how i found mine, ended up using atlantic city airport which is a smaller airport.... it was 109 one way per person, first row , first class seats. I'm sure yours is different since your flying out of the country. You should post that as a seperate forum since there are so many people that got it done in mexico, im sure they can help you big time!

Hi! I just wanted to say, I am scheduled for August 11, 2012 for my band to sleeve revision with Dr. Alvarez in TJ. Had my band placed two years ago in TJ as well and had a great experience! :) Good luck to everyone!

I am hoping to be an August sleeves! But I am just in the pre insurance paper work stage. Wish me luck. I am using Dr. Yatco at Lenox Hill in NYC.

How do you get the trackers on the bottom of the posts?

Mine is mid/ end August. Where are you going to have it done?

I'm having it in Bakersfield, CA. The hospital is less than 5 min from my house. I'm not sure which Dr is doing my surgery yet. It will be one of three from Bakersfield Surgical Associates (thats what my insurance uses)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
