Tummy tuck *pics*

Recommended Posts

I have been home since yesterday. I was operated on at 3.30pm on August 15th, and got home at about 1pm on August 17th. The whole thing was not nearly as bad as I had expected. I am managing the pain with panadol, and exercise (walking laps of the hallway) I am pretty swollen, and still have my drains in (they will be removed Monday)

It is kinda odd, feeling this flat tummy. But I am starting to accept it as my own :biggrin1:

I am not too sure how much they took off, I know it was a fair bit of skin, and some fat, but I don't think it was too much weight wise (I went in at 63kg / 138lbs and I am still that weight, even with swelling, fully clothed, and a full bowel) But the main aim was not to lose weight, it was to get rid of that flap of skin that was bothering me. And that I did.

Now, the pics!

Wow, that's incredible. I cant tell you enough how much I was not talking about that type of plastic surgery the other day - nobody in their right mind would think that that was all about vanity. That's an incredible change and must make you feel so much better, not to mention how great you look.

Samee,

I am so glad to see you back and well. The TT pain really is not what I expected either, I coped without pain pumps and such. The change is amazing, your tummy is so flat. The swell hell will bug you for up to a yr, I am 5 mths and going through another swell hell episode. As for weight loss I was heavier up to about 1 week post op then I lost 5 kgs in the next week and have lost a couple of more since. There is no way you will come out the same weight you will lose some, just have to wait for the dreaded swell hell to go down a bit. I hang out at a couple of TT forums which are great, let me know if you want the names...really helpful especially in early recovery.

Anyways the worst is over and you look damnnnn gorgeous...Congrats and talk soon.

Thank you Vera, Kathy, and Scribby!

Jacqui - I was just being very over sensitive on Tuesday. I took what was said personally, when it was in no way directed at me. I am really sorry about that.

Kel - I wasn't expecting much in the way of weight loss, because of what he took off. Just the flappy bit below my belly button. I can't imagine that would have weighed very much. Or would it? Did you lose weight during recovery? I ask because DH swears I am looking skinnier. I say BS, but he swears I do.

And the links to the PS forums would be great, thank you.

SugarPlum - Thank you!

You look great and are such an inspiration to all of us fighting this battle !!!

Wow, you look fabulous! I am definitely interested in hearing more from you and others on the healing process, the pain involved, etc. I am sure I will need a tt once I get to goal. But, the other night on Discovery Health dh and I watched a show about the "incredible shrinking woman" and she made the tt process look so painful that it scared the you know what out of me. I am hoping it is not as painful as she made it look. Did anyone else see this show?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
