Attention ! Australian Sleevers

Recommended Posts

Well I am home three days after surgery two nighs begging docs to let me home day 1 post op I was very nauseas and tired no real sleep both nights in a four bed room with noisy room mates and noisy nurses (although I couldn't feel more highly of the nursing staff looks after me wonderfully)!

Glad to be home and looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight! And hopefully feeling better soon! Thanks for all your support!

Yes it's available for Kindle. That's how I read everything now.

Home from the procedure. Frustratingly they didn't find anything obvious. I mean that's good news but I still don't have a root cause. Took some samples which they will test for malabsorption problems.

Yay Birdie, glad you are safely on the sleeve side.

Have fun on Saturday all, I sooooo wish I could have been there :( Damn too many parties.

BTW if any of you read Take 5 mag, there are some articles on people with sleeves...you may recognize one of them.

Hi Lissa, have a great day today. Robina is a great shopping centre on the Gold Coast and Marina Mirage where we are meeting tomorrow is also good. Have you bought new bathers yet? I need to buy some before going to Caloundra soon on holidays, but haven't been game to try any on as yet. See you tomorrow morning.

Hi all

How long did it take for a bowel movement?? I'm usually constipated anyone & have never been "regular". I've had benefibre in my Water for the last 4 days & took 3 natural laxatives this morning.... Nothing!!! I'm 1 week post op & don't see my surgeon again until next Thursday. Any suggestions?

It took me 8 days post op and it's quite normal. Colofac helped and it should also improve once you start purée and soft food. You are doing all the right things.

Yep.Happened to me as well on fluids-took a good week for any action and then another week before any bm routine.Keep up the benefibre.Try 2tspns in the morning and 2tspns in the afternoon.Puree stage will definitely help (as will movicol).I still use benefibre on my porridge 10 weeks out if needed.Good luck :)

(Edited to add postscript) P.S: forgot to suggest prune juice in Fluid stage.

I had always had issues pre sleeve and post sleeve it was worse. Nothing moves me other than osmolax - I will be taking it for life! i know everyone is different so just keep an eye on it.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
