Happy Easter everyone. Have a wonderful celebration on Easter Sunday hopefully with friends and family. No doubt food will be in abundance if it's anything like our place. Thank goodness we can enjoy a little of what we would like without going overboard or feeling guilty. I've made a yummy tiramisu for dessert tomorrow and will enjoy a slither!

Kelli - thanks for the Easter wishes . Hope you have a happy one too and a nice break.

Kate - As Dean said, I think it is quite common to go through a flat period. I went through mine when I moved from liquids to mushy food. It didn't last long as each day went by and the weight came off. I have been very lucky that I took a years leave of absence from my work so I no other stresses going on. I am sure you will come out of it.

Dean - 40kg is a big chunk of weight - you must be so happy - only 15kg to go! I know that I am amazed that I have lost 40kg - it still seems like magic but is slowly sinking in! Well done!

Thanks Sue. I'm anticipating the last 15 kgs might be harder to lose than the first 40, but we'll see!!

Thanks for your support sue and dean. I am lucky to have 5 days off over Easter so have been quite relaxed. Have lots of school work to do but have planned that for tomorrow and haven't thought too much about it this weekend. Certainly not complaining about it this weekend as I have lots of time to do it. Had Easter lunch with family and tried whatever I wanted but extra small portions. My lovely brother and sister in law kept telling me how well I looked. I haven't seen them for a few weeks. They don't know about the op and i did feel a little guilty keeping it to myself.

You might be surprised - I definitely noticed that it slowed down but the weight still came off pretty steadily until I reached where I am now. All the best for your continued weight loss - you are doing all the right things so I am pretty sure you will see the results!

Don't feel guilty - everyone makes there own choices about who they tell and who they don't. I don't think it matters - your standard answer when people ask how you did it can be just 'hardwork!' - which is the truth! Enjoy the compliments! I myself have probably been too much of an open book - I think shop assistants a bit taken back (and curious!) when I tell them how much weight I have lost and how I did it!

Happy Belated Easter everyone!!!

Welcome Bec! Glad we could help you with your decision. As the others have said there is probably very little that we havent seen between us.

Swift Kate, congrats. It does feel great to see the numbers moving in a downward direction...enjoy the compliments there are going to be more and more of them :)

You definitely learn how to take a compliment through this process.

It is also not unusual to feel down or flat. In life we generally have moments when get down about things...I hope the break has helped get some pep back in your step.

Sue, you will have to let us know how the workouts go.

Kelli, hope the high Protein diet is working for you. How was the tiramisu?

Hey Kelli - was it you that put me onto the recipe for the Boston Baked Beans? Anyway, I made them over the weekend and they are so yummie! I made a lot and kept them in the fridge - tonigh I threw in some browned mini meat balls - lean mince of course - reheated and my son and I had them for a quick dinner - he had rice too. Really tasty and easy - I love that as I am no cook!

Hi everyone, hope you all had a great Easter. I've been busy over the last weekend. My first question is, who did your sleeve and where do they work out of? Secondly what would your hardest part of the process was?

Cheers Bec

Hey Bec, I am in Sydney and my doctor was Dr Joseph, his offices are near RPA but does his surgeries at the Mater hospital. I can not say enough good things about him, he professional, interested in you, very clean work. He also took my gall bladder out recently as well, as part of the follow up care.

Hardest part for me was making the decision and then the pre-op diet....Had I know how easy it would be making the decision would not have been so hard but there is always alot of anxiety with any surgery, and it is a big change that you really need to be ready to make.

The 2 weeks Optifast was pretty horrid, flavourless gunk.

Sue, I am sure you will survive. Maybe you will even end up with a really cute trainer lol.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
